Updated nvidia drivers, now nothing works
« on: February 11, 2005, 04:53:25 am »
After getting through the updater glitches, the game had been running pretty stable for a few days, then today out of the blue, it crashed right to my win2k desktop, no error or anything, when I was leaving death realm. So I reboot, relogin and it happens again after walking a little ways from the spawn point ..

I go to the nvidia site, install their latest drivers reboot and now nothing works. the updater (which crashed before anyways) the setup program, and the client all crash with the same error message..

praise almighty, I figured it out. I think.

The latest nvidia driver install set opengl apps to span both my monitors (probably should of mention I have dual monitors.. but who knew?)

Once I saw that option and set it to single display, the setup ran, and I ran the client in a window up to the point of logging in.

I just set it for full screen, and am gonna try again... if it works I probably wont pester you all for a while :)

What\'s your video card? I have a GeForce 2 MX 400(64mb), and after updating to the latest drivers, I discovered 50% of the games on my computer(6) didn\'t run anymore. :D Weird, eh?

I downgraded to the second-newest drivers, since a GeForce 2 will never be able to play DirectX 9.0c games anyway, and now only 1 of the games on my computer doesn\'t run. :P

I have an AGP and a PCI card,
Geforce4 MX 420,
RIVA TNT2 model 64/Model 64 Pro

I think the first one is the 32MB AGP card that I play on and the 2nd is the PCI card.. which basically has a linux shell open 24/7.. could be black & white for all I care.. well ok 16 colors :p
