Supporting Guilds of the URPS
« on: February 17, 2005, 05:42:16 am »
This is a recruitment thread for the URPS.  Aside from having Member Guilds and Individual Members, the URPS is now recruiting Supporting Guilds.  Supporting Guilds will have no obligations to be at the meeting or really particiapate at this time.  We cannot give them full benefits that a URPS guild however they will be given benefits.  These guilds are ones in which agree with many of our ideals though do not want to join at this time.  So they will have the ability to help the URPS grow and not be subject to our laws.  Please, any guild who is interested please post here and join the URPS site.

We will discuss beneifts of the Supporter guilds this Saturday.  If you are interested about it you can PM me about info so you can be there or an update of what happens.  Thank you

http://www.urps.tk

In addition the URPS site will be moved in the next day or two.

Aendar told me that it was okay to have a basic thread and a recruitment thread.  I dont plan on keeping them both close to the top.  There really is a point to it not just spam or anything.  And yes.. I did invite every guild that I could contact that was on Kadas List.  I was hoping for as many guilds to be involved as possible.  Even though sep and I had got into it.

I really hate to say this, but I agree with you sep.  We dont want a realm controlled by guildwars nor do we want a completely peaceful realm.  It would be best if we can keep it somewhere in the middle.  Realitive peace would be nice.. and remember the URPS main objective is not to stop guildwars.. it is more to bring the different sides/alignments together in an environment that is accepting and beneificial to the different sides so we can break down barriers.

But back on track... Supporting Guilds of the URPS!!!

but then...whats the point of it all? Plaenshift was doing that just fine before all you\'ve done then is create a commity to watch paint dry if thats the case. that or you mean by bringing differnt sides together in an enviroment that is beneificial to both sides that your going to regulate guild wars so that neither side gets an unfiar advantage. is that the meaning of URPS? to make guild war a more organised sport?

like i said somewhere URPS is perfect for aurans guild and bloodclaw... since there the kind of guild that lives on the sidelines of war offering ite services....merc guild too. but guild who\'s goal is to protect the relm should be out there beating the crap out of evil and vice versa.

I will respond because I guess it is a fair question.  First, I encourage you to read everything about us sep.

sep \"but then...whats the point of it all?\"

Do not misunderstand what I said... The URPS does want realitive peace in this realm because it will help keep a balance/ stability in this realm.  However we understand that complete peace is unatainable at this time.

Here is an excerpt from the Constitution:

\"We envision The United Realm of Planeshift (URPS) as being a Grand Alliance. In addition, we thought it best to first define what a Grand Alliance is to us: An inseparable bond between a plethora of groups who have a similar objective, enlaced and fused together by Loyalty, Honesty, and an unweilding passion for relative peace with an unwaivering acceptance of all. It will forever except all alignments that do not conflct with our nature. We must understand that Good, Neutral, and Evil, cannot exist without one another. We are not bound in words alone, but by destiny... If the balance between the three was ever disturbed the Realm of Planeshift would be a mere memory of the fortunate... We must coexist to ensure survival. \"

We do want to bring all sides together.. because we need them to make this work.  This leads us to equality.  And equality is an underlying theme within the URPS.  If you have been to our forum.. you will notice that the main forum board is called the \"Round Table.\"

sep \"like i said somewhere URPS is perfect for aurans guild and bloodclaw... since there the kind of guild that lives on the sidelines of war offering ite services....merc guild too.\"

This is true to a certain extent.  Guilds like Bloodclaw will benefit because the URPS is a new market for them.. though that will be a benefit to both sides.  This can help everyone but I dont want to get into that again. :)

Back on track again:  Supporter Guilds...

Here is what I want people to know...

1.) People should know that the URPS is not going to be a flash in the pan. We are here to stay, and are planning for years to come.

2.) We made the coucil positions all elected because we do not want to control everything.  The coucil is for everyone not for us to take power.

3.) I do not appriciate attacks on us that have no real foundation.  These are not productive for anyone.

4.) People with concerns should PM us or meet us in chat.  We WANT to talk with you.  Get your concerns on the table.  It will help everyone in the long run.

5.)  Its not really about peace, its about the whole game expirence. Keeping people active, getting new players.  Making the game more enjoyable for all - Evil Good whatever.

Thank  you all for listening and to all who have contributed.  It is your ideas that fuel progress.

I would like to clear up the reason why I made this thread:  I was not really thinking about creating another thread but I was asked to by a few guilds who wanted to join the organization.  They asked me to make a recruitment thread and they said they would post.  But from this point forword only guilds interested should post here or join our forum...

Thank you

I might as well say that Ashes has decided not to become a member, nor supporter of this organisation. This is nothing personal but simply has to do with the fact that we don\'t see what would be the benifits of joining your organisation.

Thank you for the offer and good luck

Thank you Red Monk... I have the utmost respect for you in the gracious way you let us down.  Maybe in the future as the game evolves we can dicuss this issue again.

Good luck with The Ashes

Thread cleaned, AGAIN. I do not want to see any more discussion, arguments, OT, flames, attacks from anyone. This is a recruitment thread. Anything unrelated to recruitment (with the exception of Valbrandr if he wishes to post organisation updates or changes) will be deleted from this point onwards.

Thankyou, Valbrandr, for creating this thread and giving me the opportunity to get a better idea of your aims.

When you approached me first, I hesitated because I wanted to get a chance to see where you were going with the idea. I am glad that you have put together such a detailed charter in such a short time.

The short of it is that Felines Lair will not join or officially support the URPS. This is not because of a difference of opinion or any grievance; in truth I think your organisation is a great initiative and I acknowledge that the intentions are for the perpetuation and preservation of Planeshift societyand dynamics, good guild or bad, large or small.

I won\'t state my reasons here, but am more than happy to discuss it with yourself ingame any time. Congratulations on your growing memberships, and I hope your initiative is a rewarding and fruitful one.

You may consider me a friend ingame and out. I am truly sorry that our paths did not cross at this time.

Is it just me or does this thread keep going up without any new posts being added? :(

That has been a concern of many people.  And I am looking into it.

Valbrandr: Bumping, in any way, shape, or form is forbidden.  Editting a post without providing relevant information will result in the thread being deleted.

And because I am a mean bastard I will make sure to delete the posts within said thread before deleting the thread itself.

Only n00bs don't quote themselves...
