Also, if you go to the tavern.. look for a Bartender named Flare.  He is a very good roleplayer and he is a very nice person as well.

Kwip: I\'m not perfect with it either. Like you can see me making a mistake by using \"thee\" in the log.

Well people with greater knowledge or with a specific knowledge could contribute if it was made into a thread.  I am not starting the thread since I fear I do not have much a contribution to make.

The one problem with a large game... RPers get bored waiting for others to show up, so go hunting or exploring... and someone shows up... while they\'re gone... and eventually does the same.

So you end up with a dozen RPers scattered around the game, wishing they were all in the tavern chatting with someone.

Incenjucar,  I agree.

I mean, I\'ve been off the game for a week since the MAC client went down, but...

Anyway, I often have a hard time trying to find a good group of people.  I have some regulars, but I\'d like to branch out.  There has been much talk of a \"list\".  I\'m not sure it would do any real good, but it might be a nice start.

Most of all, I\'m hoping that some in-game cultures will start.

Culture won\'t hit until people start gathering in unusual places.  The tavern is going to be omni-cultural, by nature.  I went to Ojevida or however you spell it the other day, and in the tavern were a bunch of pleasant blokes who were, I\'m rather sure, \'oldbies\', who\'ve gathered there.  They had their own little thing going on.

What we need is a more pressing reason for people to be in the same place for more than the time it takes to train up.

Seriously, a good way to get some RP started would be to post a time and place for guaranteed RP.

Maybe have an event of some sort worth going to.. like a joke-off or poetry contest or something.  A public speech... a debate... something.

--

As for the cultures themselves, it would help if we actually had more info on the species we\'re playing... especially the wholly new sorts, like klyros and kran.  We have no idea on how their biology works.  I\'m not sure if my klyros has a bunch of fangs, or mere nubs for teeth, etc.

Despite, certain tendancies have at least popped up.  Fairly spontaniously, the klyros players have started to act fairly haughty.  My use of \"Greetings, kin\" is starting to spread, which is helping to give a more general tone, as well.  Helps that I claim anyone klyros who acts differently as being Laanx-touched.

I like the ideas of debates and contests very much.  When I get back on (If I can be so lucky) I would like to volunteer for the first public hanging.  I mean, it would stir thing up a bit to drag a character through the streets.

Isn\'t there a female mage out there who would be burned at the stake for the sake of RP?  It would turn the heads of the duelists in the plaza if a huge flock of people suddenly charged through with a witch in tow.

My sage would certainly be happy to make full use of any chance to prove his wisdom to the populous... it would increase his chance of being hired...

As for witches.. um... there\'s no reason to assume that witches are maligned, unless the followers of Laanx had some issue with a nature-loving herbalist wizard...

Well, I\'m still locked out of the game until the MAC side is fixed.

When I\'m in, I think we should start a sort of Citizen\'s Meeting in the plaza or tavern and announce the times here on the forums.  We could discuss the problems of duelling and vampires and whatever else is bothering our characters.

I\'d be more than happy to engage in a public debate. The problem is keeping everyone else quiet while the debate is going on.

Perhaps have the characters raise their hands to get a chance to speak?

Incenjucar\'s \"hand\" thing is intresting. maybe we altso should need a GM to silense disturbing elements, but that would be optional. the most important thing is to have a organizer.
I vote for Draklar, because it was he who startet this thread, and seems to be quite aktive ingame.

The problem is I don\'t want to take part in any discussions about vampires.
