updateing & the correct version

ok i\'m going to make it simple...and clean(i could not resist that...im a KH fan)so i downloaded the installer(form the fourm somewhere)then i installed,then i updated...then played for a while,went to bed,woke up ...tried to play,i got the message \"you are not running the correct version of planeshift for this server\" so useing common sense i tried to run the updater and i get this message \"updater.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.\" and i could not do anything since...i keep trying the updater but still nothing..and i ketp trying the game too but still same message...so someone plz help me (i seen something somewhere on the site about running the updater in a differnt mode but i could not understand it)..so agian plz help me.... ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ;(  ****update****-i cannot go to properties of the updater cause something called dr.watsons postmortem debugger has an error message and  closes the properties...(i try more than once still no luck)...

Dr.Watson, that\'s one of those half-baked \'virus scanner wannabe\'s as far as I remember. My advice would be to uninstall it and get some proper PC protection. That will also fix the problem with you not being able to go into the Properties menu, which is the only way you\'re going to be able to fix this without completely reinstalling.

for one thing as i know of its not a virus scanner thing cause i got norton 2005 .also ive uninstalled and reinstalled manytimes,updated and then the updater would not work and the game said the same thing...

Dr.Watson has been part of windows for a long time. It\'s a program debugger.

well thanx but now we need a soulution on how to fix it...one of my friends said i should reinstall windows but im a lil worried cause im not sure what what would do...

If you didn\'t understand the posts about the --auto trick, then you must be incredibly stupid, no offence. Dozens of people explained the thing over and over and over again to hunderds of people like you. I don\'t think you\'ve really tried to understand anyway. But, especially for you, I will explain ONE more time.

thanx alot this helped alot ,well this did neway \"C:\\progra~1\\planes~1\\updater.exe --auto\",if you even read the thread  then you would know i could not do it the normal way and the one i ment i did not understand is the one on the site...im olny a newbie at the computer so i dont know what a shell is(i knew what a comman prompt is tho)an i finally got it workin by useing the method of typeing C:\\progra~1\\planes~1\\updater.exe --auto into the run thing.....but you seriously did help so i agian thank you...
