Im not sure if this is the same bug, but it sounds similiar:

I select my character, it does the screen loading, then when the load screen is done, it crashes. It\'s doing this to me 100% of the time. This is just a hunch, but when i exited the last time, my display was a bit funky, i was at the magic shop mining for gold and i more or less got to see through the terrain - and that is when i logged out. Perhaps the client seg faults if you start at an invalid cordinate. I dunno just stabbing at the dark. I do have the core saved - just i am a bit short on hosting... As a developer I understand how much a core dump speeds things up and i will work on getting it hosted.

btw, awesome game guys :) If i knew a little more about 3d game programming I would help, but I\'ve only dealt with web page based games (and no not in PHP). Keep up the good work :)

o, there is one other thing... i modified the custom shortcut menu. I just created another character and still have the same problem, so ya scratch the position thing. And geocities won\'t lemme upload the dump....

I\'m getting the same problem.  The initial character selection screen displays OK, but when selecting login I get a Segmentation Fault.

It looks like there are a few images missing.

The links to the downloader mentioned on that page are broken.

It seems a bit excessive, but I\'m going to re-install PS from scratch, then update to see if that works.

well i tinkered around a bit...

if i uninstall and reinstall it fixes it but when i repeated the modification of the menu & restart the game it seg faults. Note this only crashes when i bind a new shortcut to a key (in this case \"-\'). When i simply create the shortcut and don\'t bind a key to it, im fine.

I\'m seeing a lot of \"Server dropped us. (Invalid error message)\" errors now that I\'ve never seen before, has anyone else seen these?

I suspect they are combat related, because they only happen in the arena or sewers when there is fighting going on nearby - the error will happen almost immediately after I have logged in. On the other hand, if I spawn to the plaza things are much more stable.

It could be errors recently introduced into CVS as well.. I\'ll update and rebuild in a day or two if things are still crashing by then.


I like the spinning character portrait thing at the character selection screen when logging in, that a nice touch :)

zbyte, what do u mean by binding a key to the shortcut? how do I unbind the shortcut? What shall I do to get rid of this bug?

Well, I tried the re-installation and updating after that and I get to *exactly* the same position I was in before.

I don\'t get to the character selection screen, so I\'m not sure if we\'re all talking about the same problem.

Can anyone suggest how I can recover from the fact that I seem to be missing some .bmp files.

Everything was working OK until one of the recent updates (when the client informed me that it was the wrong version for the server).  Now I can\'t log in :-(

If it\'s of any use, psupdater gives me the following:

I have a problem lgetting in game now it was fine last night (00:30 GMT) .Now i can opnly get as far as half the loading bar on join game.
Cant seem to post the error file here is there a way to fix it anyway I ran the updater but there seems to be no update to install.

Edit:- Hmmm it seems to have fixed it\'s self ah well never mind.

ive got a big problem :
i cant see the text on my computer i have textures etc but ther arent any text and ive got a problem with psclient :a raport is created with one bug : planeshift _version_Mar 03 2005_addr77F9e4b4.dmp

my graphical card is a xabre 200 with 64 mb

(sorry if u cant understand what i write it is beacause ive got 13 yr old and im polish)
