There was a kran named tassadar, who was a member of Vaalnor.

He was Archon's alt I believe.

Zan would know.

Never knew about any Tassadar but I did know Archon. Either way, look back to my reply in the Imperial Guard thread for the real situation. A man is allowed to switch jobs after all.

Really sangwa and hwnae are the only DE members I have ever met who don't think they're the best thing since sliced bread... I like that

Well it's good that we're in charge then, ain't it? ;D

By the way, you won't find any players behind the Imperials who fit this description. The Dark Empire strives to be a rolemodel when it comes to organisations, guilds and roleplay in general. That doesn't mean we think we're the best, it means we try to be the best.

I see the Empire as one of the bridges between Devs and players. Devs build this game while the players play in it. The Dark Empire is made up out of players but we do more than just play the game. We try to create as well, building an empire within the confinements of the settings. While doing this we contribute to the larger community. The Arcane studies many aspects of the Planeshift reality and write books about it to share that knowledge. The Loyal provides weapons, stock and ores to any that want to buy it. The Steel provides protection to whomever requests it.

We're definitely not the only ones doing this, there are a lot of others who contribute to the community in similar or very different ways.

As for you, Sangwa my old friend... while I understand the need to portray your guild in a positive light... I suggest a portrayal of perfection that you appear to be attempting might be a tad presumptious...

An expected opinion; you have not seen the Empire for a while. It changed and it is perfect. If I'm wrong though, I will fix it over and over again until I get it right, like we've been doing since always. If you disagree with any specific part, do tell. If you only have a feeling that it is not as perfect as I claim, then I must point you to the website so you can focus your opinion.

As a side note, I've delivered the Empire the hands of many. Nurhak, Tharos, Natrina, Jjairr, Phinehas... Some took the chance, others didn't. I have absolute trust and will take great risks when I believe in the ability of someone. I've been wrong many times, though not about those I've named, but the reason it hasn't bothered the Empire is because I also have had the wisdom to know how much I detain from what I deliver.
I hope this can also explain why I am soft. If it can't, it's probably because you're not thinking hard enough!
Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

ah.... sorry parallo... *pat* *pat*

All in all I just get irritated by people, and then judge the guild they're in, sorry.

Again, call it jealousy.

I forgive you. Just keep in mind that if everyone had that approach I'd despise the Outlaws.

The Dark Empire is an ambitious project. It's normal, and healthy, that its members have some measure of confidence and that some might even be over confident. As long as it doesn't step in that person's way, or in any Imperial's way, we don't mind having egocentric people aboard.

I called what you quoted jealousy because it seemed to be an annoyed reply to something, because it was exaggerated and because it seemed like it was spoken by a an Aspirant that failed its trial and found the Empire not interesting. It's a valid opinion, but the way it was expressed was far from being ideal.

I want comments on the new Promotional Thread Topic and on the new structure of the Dark Empire.

Also, I want to add .. don't always judge the player based on their character. Having a haughty character and being a self-centered player are not the same.

Heh, thanks, but chorval is no outlaw anymore ;)

I wont take offense, and frankly they would have brought it on themselves.

Point still stands. Every guild has members we don't like and to brand that guild because of them is the same logic as branding a race for some of its members.

Your charisma does you credit, Sangwa, and makes you an excellent leader. I do not, at the moment, have the time to peruse your guild and offer the more poignant criticism that you deserve. I can, however, say this: I have now been in this realm for three and a half years, and have had my eye on the Empire for the duration. It has always been excellent, but always far from perfect. I hope you will allow me the presumption to say that if having not achieved perfection in three years, it is doubtful that it has been achieved in the last few months. I have never seen a perfect guild, and I do not believe I ever shall.

We will always be different, Sangwa. You are ever the leader, I am ever the wizard. You are ever warm and passionate, I am ever cold and calculating. You ever hold to your opinion, I ever confident in mine. It is enough. Let us be satisfied in our friendship and quarrel over the Empire not.

Perfection is a matter of opinion and personal preference. If you ever see someone else obtain it for you, get married to that person immediately! ... change your sexual preference if you must :P

That being said I personally think it is a good thing that perfection is not obtained, it keeps us working and striving for that perfection. Always putting the bar a bit higher for the next step, always evolving.

And I'm the two of you combined - Pure awesome :P

I'm just dropping by the thread to give you guys a nice thumbs up.  I read over the laws - simple, straightforward and reasonable - I like it.  God knows I would have made it much much more complicated :P

The Site is great, I like the use of dark blue instead of black.  Doesn't give off as much of an evil feel.

My only criticism is the Beliefs, Religion and Ideals part.  Putting aside the fact that I believe the Dark Empire should have a Religion, I think that this particular topic demands a few more paragraphs ;)
I also could not find a "Goals" section, which I think is a high priority.  What with "Dark" being in your name and so everybody assuming you are the next Sauron :P

Anyways, carry on :D

@Nurahk: True, now that you speak of it... I'll try to add that to the information section as soon as I get into the mindset required to work it. About the laws, they're the creation of Hwnae, who made them that clear. Fortunately too, as far as I'm concerned.
The Dark Empire has no religion basically because it was founded by a Diaboli. It could change in the future, dependent on the effort of religious characters within.

@Phinehas: Our differences are exactly why I enjoy discussing with you. It's always good to exchange perspectives with people with diverse and reasonable opinions.

Perfection is a matter of opinion and personal preference. If you ever see someone else obtain it for you, get married to that person immediately! ... change your sexual preference if you must :P

That's how I see at as well, and I believe that always striving to improve is perfect. :P

So Parallo should keep trying to convert all your family?

Good luck with that Parallo ;)

As for high and mighty behavior. You'll always have that with some people. DE tries to get ambitious people and so that means sometimes they can have big ego's to. However sometimes people get offended by people playing characters with huge ego's. Garile is a lot more selfish then I'll ever be and she is definately not a nice kitten to people who she doesn't know sometimes. But there is a world of difference between you as a character finding that annoying or you as the player.

If something annoys you that's only IC behavior just tell so OOC. I don't think I have met an imperialist yet who wasn't open for some constructive critism OOC. Eventhough obviously it doesn't always mean they change right away.
