Introducing the guild ELite.
« on: February 26, 2005, 05:34:02 pm »
Dear citizens of Yliakum, as a guild leader of ELite I would like to
introduce us; Guild ELite is a very old guild that came to Yliakum from
some other world and hopes to find here a new home. We are apolitical
guild therefore even if all of us cares to have friends in other guilds we do
not accept any alliances or war declarations, all our members are free in
their doings since we hope that all of us are honourable and obeying the
law adult people therefore we will never force any of our members to hate
or like someone and wars/alliances are some way enforcement.
We are only accepting in ELite there people we know, so even if I already
got some requests, I had to refuse them - you may only join if you get an
recomendation from a guild member. Anyway we are usually friendly and
will gladly help you if we will be able to do so.
You may meet us on our forums: http://forum.elite.t28.net/.

Regards.

Yeah, I must admit, the name is just blatant advertising. I thought it was a typo ingame at first to capitalise the \"EL\" but I see it\'s intentional now. :)

Well a little more story perhaps, and some ranks, a website and well a little more structure.
Well I must agree with Moogie I thought the big L was a typo, well good luck anyway

The first thing that came to my mind when I read the part about only recruiting people who have been recommended by a guild member... What if someone important wanted to join? Someone that you guys didn\'t even have any hopes for? Someone like Draklar, or Kada, or Monketh. Would you turn them down because they weren\'t recommended?

Also, that bit about it being an old guild that came from \"some other world\". Right.... First of all, that\'s just lousy writing \"some other world\". Second of all, If you were an old guild, wouldn\'t you already have ranks, and a real background, and a point, etc. etc? A guild like this wouldn\'t survive in any world I\'ve ever heard of.

For the rest, though, good luck putting it together.

Heh heh, thanks for the ego boost.  :P
You guys really need to elaborate.

...and of course, the title \"ELite\" sounds more than a little arrogant.

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

Well if they are nice people and if someone in the guild knows them then they all are welcome to join! :)
If we don\'t have any hopes for these guys then what is your point anyway? ;)

Well not everyone have such strong english and literary skills as you obviously have. If it makes you feel any better, let\'s just say that we formed a strong guild once, far away from Yliakum. While in this other world, we became slowly aware of a taint that was present there. As it grew more apparent, and harder to resist for us all, most of us decided to leave that world behind and seek another. One that is hopefully more beautiful and hospitable than we could ever imagine.

ELite is the name of our guild, it is not meant to be advertising and I hope you can see past it into our true strength.

We are the Elite. :P

You may be the ELite, but you sure aren\'t elite.

As for the thing about Draklar, Monketh, and Kada. You obviously don\'t even know who they are. So never mind.

And you\'re background story is extremely unoriginal.

Oh, I get it now, the more caps in a name make it more intense. In that case.....

Platyna might know who I am though :P

And I might be mistaken, but I think the ELite comes from the game they used to play - EL (whatever that might be)

The name is not advertizing anything, because what is the point of
advertizing the game we have left?
Name is a word game, has a great tradition and history behind, the name
remains as it used to be since the begining. We are now a Planeshift guild
but we are not newly created, there are guilds such like Andronnai that
exists in in many MMORPG games or even those who only exist on a web
forum or an IRC channel. And we are one of guilds like that. The name
comes from the the other game name too - because we were strongly
connected to the development of the other project, but mainly the name
comes from the friendship that connects us and keeps toghether - for each
other we are most important and \"elite\", it also comes from the our sense of
humour.
We have a website but since we changed our place to be it requires to be
edited, one of our guild members is working on it, so I didn\'t posted an URL
by purpose since it contains alot of materials related to some other game. I
posted that so we could meet each other better as the subject of this thread
says - to introduce us we do not expect anyone powerful and important to
join us, we really are not concerned into any politics and the rules about
being accepted in ELite are for everyone the same, no matter what is their
social or politic status in Yliakum - we are friends, we just want us to RP
and stay toghether.

About my grammar - English is not my native language even if I am trying
to keep it as good as possible.

Regards.

EL = Eternal Lands.
Imagine a cross between run&escape, an rpg, and The Sims.
