my suggestion is add the prase \"yourself on fire\" on the end of your guilds name.... oh and take the E off and you have a suggestion of what you should do :)

multi region guilds dont work in planeshift for 1 reason...were  underdevloped so where as most guilds in most games can crash land anywhere and shock troops.. here we have few big names and a almost ladder like line downwards... jumping in gets a stare and a laugh from members...its better to join an already here guild and learn :P ...exept that plant guy although beats me who he is

Alignement:
We are seeking for knowledge and the truth, we do not let our eyes to be
covered by harted or desire of power therefore our alignement is neutral.

Our guild is more like a old Scotland clan - we are like the family and we
are supporting each other and are loyal to each other. Guild is not ruled
but some way maintained by the guild masters who are considered as
heads of the family.
Elise is a fighter, she always defended us when needed and were taking
revenges if some of us got hurt.
Leeloo is an explorer - looking for the hidden places, leads us there and
stands hard on the ground so if someone of us needs an advice asks her.
Aelric is a manufacturer, alchemist and smith a silent person, the man of
work but always ready to give a good advice and bring solace to our hearts
I am a merchant, I was always taking care about guild finances. I was
also a jeweller and alchemist so if these skills will be ever implemented in
PS I will come back to them since they are my call.

Ranks are currently only Guild Masters and Guild Members, they will be
surely changed when all members will decide about their specializations
and the way in game.

Our philosophy is freedom and loyality that comes from a call of heart not
enforced rules.

RP story of our guild has to be rewritten and is not yet done.

Regards.

So, it\'s a clan, and not a guild.

Mind you, most guilds on the net aren\'t anything like guilds, they\'re just the result of some people liking the name and not being stopped by a language or history buff in time.

Actually you are wrong. It is a guild. And that we also like each other is
the other issue. Anyway I don\'t think so if in a RPG game someone would
accept in his guild a person he dislikes...

A guild, in the proper, non-game-corrupted sense, is basically a group set up to control a mercantile aspect of society.

Real world style guilds included things like Textile Guilds, Mining Guilds, Dairy Guilds, Mercenary Guilds, etc.

\"We are friends\" is not a guild, its a club.

I realize this is just the end result of linguistic corruption in the RP game community, and not your doing, but there is, in fact, a good term used in First Person Shooters, and, of course, the real world:  Clan.

You\'re a Clan.

As for liking... in the real world, you\'d usually get HURT if you failed to join the proper guilds for your profession.  Liking wasn\'t involved, only control of money.

That is what Incenjucar meant.  And a guild is more like a co-op than anything, so most any \"guild\" in planeshift is a clan.

I think Incenjucar had something else in mind.

My interpretation: Most clans in the web are the result of attraction of newbs to the sound of an effective guild name, while afterwards many leaders of such guilds realize that people they accepted just do not have the bonds required to have a good guild.

Incenjucar: Tell me, if I\'m wrong...

P.S. Didn\'t see the two posts before mine...

So could you specify these bonds?

Fix you?  Hmnn... Where to find a Scissor Smith...

My point is:

REAL guilds are all about a -job-.  They\'re akin to unions.  It\'s good pay and good hours, with low competition.

Clans are about familial and alliance connections.  Liking someone (usually via marriage) is how you get in to a clan.

Of course, many clans are really more like clubs, but they\'re much closer than \'guilds\' are to how it works.

Trust, dedication, self-sacrifice for guildmate\'s good. Probably some more.
