Hmm.. well I wish you luck Talamir.. but if you did not know we are reworking DeT.  Its current structure has become outdated and I have been in talks with some of the other original members and we are about to go through a major change.  it is too bad that you will not be able to join us on this journey Talamir but I guess it was not your destiny.

I will try and be online at everybody\'s \"normal\" times over the next two days, as it is my weekend, so that I can speak to everybody that I need to.

Thankfully I have rearranged my work schedule so I\'m not getting beat to death and have more time to play.  And my client is once again working, so all is good.  Talamir... you get frustrated too quickly  - turn that anger into energy to put into the guild next time instead of bailing. pffft

Talamir is now a loyal member of the Dark Empire, though he pledges his services if the need arises.

Just wondering... was Anubis truly an appropriate choice for this guild?  Besides the issues of being OOC.

It just seems to me from what I\'ve read, that Anubis was more of a guardian over the realm of the dead and over the death of gods, but I don\'t think that Anubis went after the gods to kill them.

So in Egyptian mythology, who is the patron god of suffering?  I know that Seth is the god of chaos and destruction, but suffering is different from both those things and might only be caused by them.

Sopedu was the god of war and suffering or something.. I think though about Anubis and think it doesn\'t really matter too much... nothing is perfect, oh well :D  Its just one of those things - specifics aren\'t that important really.

Hmm.  I didn\'t find anything on the net linking him to suffering.... just references to him as a guard.  His symbol is the owl though, and that\'s significant in its own right.:--D

I cant really remember the sources that were used when DeT was originally set up.  But I do know it was a crediable site :P..  Likely we should not have used Equiptian gods... but it all started as kind of a small joke that turned out to be very successful because of the was Am-heh was RPing his part.

It\'s a thin line sometimes.  For instance, my character\'s name is based on an Egyptian god - but only incidentally, and the god is so obscure that you would never guess it.

Even if you said something in game like \"Ave ba\'al Amheh anpu levich set-mot levich!\", it wouldn\'t mean anything to anyone except for a very few members of the order.  Most people would just see Amheh\'s name, and they wouldn\'t pick up on the numerous OOC references in that single line (languages used include latin, hebrew, and russian, while it makes references to egyptian mythology and jewish mysticism).

Zanzi, you really should do a search on that.  It has been a major trade island off the east coast of Africa for millenia--since a few hundred years a key in spice trade.

There is also some folklore, from various places, about the name being a merchant with magical powers--probably due to the fact that it was a destination for sailors who went there during the monsoons.  [Don\' know if you\'ll find much of the folklore.]

There are also many clubs named after it--for all of the above reasons: haven, magical, spicy.
