Hi, I hope this thread isn\'t to old to revive. If it is I\'m sorry, I just didn\'t want to start a new thread on an old subject

I think the real question is what tpyes of wheather fit in to the setting? I\'m writing my character\'s story right now so this type of thing would be useful to know.

You\'ll find most any weather types in Yliakum- rain, wind, heatwaves... but I\'ve heard we won\'t have snow?? (Can someone confirm this?)

Basically, if it can exist in a cave, then it\'ll likely exist in our stalactite. :)

Well, I still don\'t think that actual rain will be possible with the cavern ceiling being relatively close to the first level. Apart from that, the second and lower levels are even closer to the lower floor of the upper levels, meaning that clouds wouldn\'t form. Therefore, I think it\'d at best be mist and dew, not actual rain.

As for ths snow:

from art/gui/zodiacs.xml
Hoarfrost has thickened to resemble something that some races refer to as snow. Some ice flakes fall from the small vents in the cavern roof and settle on the upper levels, which begin to melt off as Novari draws to a close.

This strongly suggests that there is no actual snow. However, with temperatures this low, the absence of snow also hints at the absence of rain in warmer temperatures, since snow is just frozen rain.

But, is this mist and dew of a large enough quanity to support vegatation?

It isn\'t, but there are rivers that enter Yliakum through cracks in the ceiling and walls, providing plenty of water to support the life inside the stalactite. :)
