Error after Update.
« on: March 10, 2005, 10:55:44 pm »
Ok just updated the game now it crashes when i get to the char selection screen. When i shut down and reboot game it tells me i\'m already ingame ??

Hmmmm Cant get the error log to add into here.

Edit :- http://www.freewebs.com/cantsnet/PlaneShift_Version_Mar%2010%202005_Addr7C342849.dmp

Edit:- Ok i\'ve deleted and reinstalled the game twice now and still i cant get past the char selection screen.
I downloaded the full version (PlaneShift CBVO.3.007) and used the new updater as well(version 1.0.2.4).I still get the same error report numbers as the above one.I\'ll try uploading the .dmp file to the wifes site see if that works better l8r on.

Yes my Char is also currently crashing after the update as soon as i click on it in the char selet screen. Well i guess it will give my rival guilds time to rebuild and reform there troops. They need all the help they can get ;)

couple of observations:
1.)when it crashes i don\'t get asked to save a dump file
2.)it\'s seems to be character specific. I have two characters...whenever my Kaseijin character is retrieved first and placed on the top of the character list, thus being selected automatically...the game crashes.
However if my Keenan character ends up on the top of the list ...the game doesn\'t crash in fact i can enter the world without problems....
when my keenan character ends up on the top of the list and i select my Kaseijin character the game crashes.

I would think it\'s model specific but both my characters are stonebreakers.
i actually play planeshift

I think it might have something to do with the first character it loaded after the update, thus if you don\'t use your other charachters then you can get them deleted, reinstall, and reupdate, and it might work, haven\'t tested it yet, so I take no liability.
