Im sure that after the wipe, if it is anytime soon, players will put more effort into their characters, RP a bit more, explore, and with luck, a few things will be added as well.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.   :P  Xantherus Icer  :P

Its always better to be optimistic then antagonistic. Did I say that correct? Anyway, you must have confidence in the PS team. I assume they are doing all they can with the free time they have. Considering the wipe, if i was them, I would get it over with already because people are just getting mad as they stall. Personally, and i mean no offense to anyone, just get it over with and wipe everything. Let people actually start to build their characters. But hey, others have opinions too. :P

Obviously you haven\'t even noticed the major bugs that crept up just yesterday and a few days before? These did cost some players substantial amounts of tria (yes, I am one of them). Therefore, PS obviously is not close to being mature enough to wipe. Also, there have been reports about possibilities to cheat on the char creation, which are currently being investigated. In light of all this, doing the wipe now would inevitably lead to another wipe in the not too distant future.

As for \"people will RP some more\": RP is about the only thing that makes any sense before the wipe. After it, people will be occupied grinding and levelling, and I expect less RP then.
Building the char is a two way thing, I won\'t deny this, but all too often, especially with new players, it focuses on stats and skills and most chars don\'t even have the faintest trace of background. This isn\'t going to change after the wipe, so what makes you expect more RP afterwards?

I said I expect more RP now out of common sense. Now there really isint a point to lvling and such because it will all be wiped anyway. Besides, its fun to take a break and converse and help other people. (RPing.. now.)

Alright, I obviously misunderstood you, then. For me:

computed to \"wipe done=more RP\". Now I see what you actually meant to say.

I think it\'s unrealistic to think that their is gonna be a wipe soon that would allow you to start building some permanent character. You can see this yourself, old bugs get fixed, features get added, new bugs come in. Ir\'s pretty normal in development. I bet if they would do a database purge in this year they would have exploited money and stuff in the game before a month had passed. So it seems a little bit unreal to me to let people think their is gonna be some kinda wipe that will fix the exploited money problems.

Maybe it would be better to just let the people keep the money they got from exploits and put of a wipe to new year or something. Offcourse this is without garanties cuz a wipe might be needed in the mean time for testing economy balance or something. Devs have a free hand in this.

I wanne RP a mage not some drunk that hangs around the bar all the time. (: With that impending thread of wipe above our heads it\'s hard to gather the will to raise the money to buy myself more glyphs. How long will I be able to enjoy my hard work, a week? a month? a year? I\'m starting to think it will be the last one. Maybe the dev team should review their stands on this issue.

In the long run I think it will be needed to have a game server and a test server aside from eatchother before we can have a permanent player database and even then it will be impossible to keep the exploited money out. A strong server side logging and checking of the clients is needed for this and the devs are working on this as far is I\'ve read.

*Holds up a sign which reads* Save the rats from total annihilation!

Seriously, from the current point of view, what will people do after the wipe? They\'ll fall over rats like hordes of madmen. I suppose almost any given rat in the sewers will have a line standing behind them and people will start to draw numbers when it\'s their turn to kill them.

What I hope to get from the wipe? A chance to select my character\'s basic stats and history anew - I picked them rather wrong the first time, it seems.
