New skill

There should be a skill that makes you able to make glyphs, cause warriors can make their weapons, why wizards couldnt make their glyphs by their shelfs, of course this should take a lot of training.. And there should be more staffs that would boost wizard abilities and other staffs too

Glyphs would have to be very hard to make I would think.

But this idea opens up some interesting (at least to me) ideas about magic user\'s making different types or different strengths of glyphs.  A lowly skilled magic user would make a glyph that allowed a low level version of the spell.

Then I guess you would also allow glyph makers to sell their glyphs.

Yes, yes... interesting idea indeed.
I don\'t think it would be complicated... it would be like making a weapon... for example: to build a glyph to summon a walking tree, the requirements could be a piece of a tree, legs of an animal and say the correct words (like target the glyph making thingy and say the words)

Also glyphs are naturaly found in nature...

Unfortunately it seems that according to the current setting that this will not happen, at least not if the player\'s guide is right.
Quote
On Glyphs: From PS Player\'s Guide
They are found in quests, left by ancestors, stolen or purchased. They are found in nature with no real explanation, no one knows exactly why they form, but when some type of energy is strongly present in one place a glyph can appear. Glyphs appear as marks on very different materials from a leaf to the fur of an animal, and usually of any type of rock.

MAybe a new unique glyph could be made with highly advanced alchemy?

LIke take 6 herbal roots, a rat eye, tsefung hide, and the blood of an enki. Put them on a stone, use your alchemic powers and...ta da! You have just applied powers into the stone with you ingredients to make a new glyph!
Might be interesting. It would give mages a type of rare to colllect.

That way the glyph would seem more like a potion then a trully glyph.

I think a glyph should be a reward for the mage evolution, ex: when the mage reaches level 50 in maybe crystal we could receive a glyph, meanwhile the text that could apper could be: You\'ve reached a pure state of mind, in your inspiration moment you\'ve descovered one of many nature\'s secrets, now u can make your own glyph.

u are richt  that sounds like potion  but wat u think bou this ??

u first have to do a quest that revealles how the glyps could be created
u could start this quest at magick shop
(has to be hard quest)

u need to do the quest so u can go trough a portal ( thats hidden and wil reveal in the quest and the guys that didnt do the quest cant get past it) and go and mine glypt ore there.

and u can train the glypt making skill also at magick shop (realy expensive) wen u have te skill u need to buy like sort of talismans the shows u place with much energy of a special kind like crystal, fire, etc.
just hold the ore against the  rock or something with the energy of a crystal etc glypt

how much ore u need to make 1 glypt depends of the glypt creatiopn skill like with level 1 u need 30 glypts or something like that.

i hope u like my idea

I definately agree they should be researchable, craftable, or obtainable somehow. The Players Guide quote provided by Kwip hints about them being found where a certain type of energy is located.. so I\'m guessing if you are after Red Way glyphs you would have to go questing down into an active volcano or something similar. A Brown Way glyph might be obtained from the deepest recesses of a mighty ancient forest, after making a pact with the creatures that live there, etc.

Its probably should be achievable only with a lot of time spent in research, with several rare and expensive components, a long journey to a remote and dangerous area, or a combination of the all of the above. That would certainly justify the cost associated with buying a glyph. And the more powerful glyphs that bring the most amazing spells and powers into play should be vastly more difficult to get, naturally.

Well there is only one thing that needs to be said.. what if either my technology or devine intervention a (VERY)FEW[/b] people figure out how to replicate the acts of the gods ;)

hey thats story development for you.. at the start of the game *now* we would be more \"primitive\" then we would be later... thats the best way to introduce updates.. somebody just \"discovered\" how to do it. besides all these races are new to this land.. im suprised they arent in the stone age XD

Hey! Why should it be from an Enki?! I know we are the best of all races and all that, but I don\'t people after me because of my blood!!! (just joking :P)

Yes as I said first and Kwip quoted from the players guide.
But if Nature can create Glyphs, well, we are part of nature if you know what I mean...
If PS has the possibility of researching and study stuff, it might be possible to realise how do the Glyphs are made and even repruduce them!
A game with research->discover->produce, would be a kinda new and interesting. Like RL scientists, they try to find understand stuff, to make and manipulate them among other stuff... And if it was limiteless we ended up in a Scy-Fi world (lol), ok... some limits would be required... but in a RP way... a guy discovered electricity, so the governement had to kill him and everytime he gets out of DR some guards killed him again (poor guy)... ok it needs limits... er... getting off-topic here.

Mabye you could fine the way glyths form!

And that game does have some  good ideas  ;)  (like a multi-player dual arena (no not the pking area, this is fairly new))

edit: Fine the way?!? I hate it when i make errors. I can\'t even fix it because it\'s so long ago I can\'t remember what I was trying to say!  ;(
