Hammer Lords
« on: March 24, 2005, 12:44:38 am »
Years ago, in an age long forgotten, there lived 3 races of dwarves. The Stonebreakers, the greatest miners of the lands, the Hammerwielders, fantasic warriors who were unmatched in strength, and the Glyphcasters, amazing warlocks with highly destructive spells at their fingertips.

These three races dwelled merrily among one another. Their kings often dined together, and went on hunts. The kings were Rakli Stonecrusher, Ogri Hammerlord and Glyk Glyphwarrior.

Glyk Glyphwarrior was a great sorceror, and once, whilst visiting the Great Mines of Harrika, with the other kings, he came across a Malgorn.

Malgorns were creatures of a time even before that, when the gods walked the lands. They once were the servants of the gods, until they became malign. This Malgorn had great powers, surpassing even the greatness of Glyk Glyphwarrior. However, it was sorely wounded.

Glyk Glyphwarrior was tempted by this Son of the Devil to heal the Malgorn and destroy the other dwarven races, becoming supreme ruler of the dwarven kingdoms. The Malgorn would help him do that, in return, Glyk had to heal the Malgorn.

He agreed, and the Malgorn soon arose. Rakli and Ogri soon saw this, and tried to escape. Rakli was mauled, but Ogri managed to escape.

Ogri went to his kingdom as fast as he could, but he was too late. It was annhialated. Some dwarves survived, and they all made a vow to stop this reckless destruction. They went to the Stonebreakers kingdom, to find the same destruction.

The surviving dwarves then, for the first time in dwarven history, went to the surface. They formed a guild, the Hammer Lords, and searched far and wide to recruit more dwarves for their guild.

Ogri still searches to this day for more Hammer Lords. Aid him in his noble quest to stop Glyk Glyphwarrior from his evil rampage, and cease the lives of Glyk and the Malgorn.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Join the Hammer Lords today, and help recruit more Hammer Lords to begin the Last Battle of the Dwarves. On your way, complete Guild Quests, compete in Arena Fights and rise in the ranks of the Hammer Lords.

We stand for helping dwarven newbies get on their feet, by teaching them the ways of the Stonebreakers and Hammerwielders of years past. Mining and Fighting are taught, with help on getting started. Our rules include :

1. You must be loyal to the guild, by competing in as many Arena Fights, completeing Guild Wars, and helping newbies as you can.
2. You must help newbies at all possible times.
3. You must not rag the guild or other members of the guild.
4. Don\'t do things that are obviously not acceptable.

You can gain promotions by learning the needed skills for the Last Battle, completing Guild Quests, fighting in Arena Fights and helping newbies. The rankings are :

Lvl 1 = Servant
Lvl 2 = Warrior or Miner
Lvl 3 = Mercenary or Jeweler
Lvl 4 = Officer or Apprentice Smithy
Lvl 5 = General or Expert Smithy

To go to Lvl 6 and higher, you must be a Stonebreaker or Hammerwielder (if we don\'t get many dwarves to join, this will change).

Lvl 6 and Lvl 7, you may choose your own rank name, provided it complies with your previous ranks. Lvl 8 recieves a special rank, which depends on how you went in your Final Test.

Join the Hammer Lords today, and restore the former glory of the dwarves!!

If you have any questions, please either talk to me in-game (Ogri Hammerlord) or reply to this post.

Well, good but being a dwarven guild wont get you far...

P.S. You mean dwarven \"newbies\" the word \"noob\" is taken as an insult.

Thnx for that. Yes, I thought I wouldn\'t get much luck with a dwarven guild, but I decided to try. Maybe, I\'ll change that ...

Why won\'t they get far? Seems like a well-planned guild to me. There\'s not been many dwarven guilds around, either. These guys have a goal, and ways for their members to achieve it- fun ways, with lots of rewards to keep them interested.

Why?

Is this a rival guild of Glyphwarriors? Or is it a coincidence. In any case, good luck. Do you plan on creating a website?

Thnx Moogie for the compliments. Also, I thought I\'d make it clear what Arena Fights and Guild Quests are.

Because we will rarely hold Guild Wars (so that we can sum up strength to hold the Last Battle of the Dwarves) we hold Arena Fights instead.

These are held about every week, and all guild members are invited to attend. What happens, is we go to an empty room in the Arena, and then battle it out. Whoever wins, gets prizes.

Guild Quests are like guerilla attacks against Glyk\'s evil armies. They usually change every few days, and you recieve guild points and prizes for completeing them. They are needed to access the higher ranks.

Hope that explains some things.

Also, I was wondering, what happens when you die? If it\'s something pretty bad, I might change how Arena Fights go.

It is a coincidence that there is a guild called Glyphwarriors. We might hold a Guild War against them later on though.

In the ranks, there are 2 paths, the path of the Warrior and the path of the Miner. When you reach Level 6, everything that you have done so far will be looked over (I have a Word Document in which I will record everything that happens in the guild) and then some rank names will be offered to you.

Example : Rakli Stonecrusher has completed 3 Guild Quests, won 5 Arena Fights, chose the path of the Warrior, has helped 2 newbies, has defended the glory of the Hammer Lords 4 times (by attacking anyone who insults it, remember, dwarves don\'t take insults lightly), and has defeated countless monsters. He is offered these ranks when he goes to Level 6.

Elite Warrior, Dwarven Lord, Berserker etc.

He then chooses one. Same as for Level 7.

In Level 8, you must complete a Final Test, which is like an Elite Guild Quest. If you succeed, I will look at how you went in the quest, and give you a special title.

If you went exceptionally well, you can recieve the rank of Hammer Lord (highest possible rank except for Ogri Hammerlord)

Yes, I do plan on creating a website, which hopefully will be ready in 2 weeks (sorry, you have to wait).

Well the Sheeples support you...as long as you stand in front of us. And could you stand on stools, or perhaps stilts? Arrows tend to come in higher than a Dwarf stands.

[ooc]Hear not the nay-sayers. I wish you good luck in your quest. All guilds can\'t be the same.[/ooc]

Heh, that\'s actually funny because Moogie is a member of 1 race guild which was around for almost two years :P

And CV is 3 race, meh ;)

Said that, don\'t mind Robinmagus, Ogri. He knows nothing about running successful guild ;)

Just do your best
and good luck :)

Many thanks to all you well-wishers (however, NEVER insult us dwarves about our stature, Under the Moon). ;)

I hope that your guilds may also rise in glory and fortune.

Reminder : Any questions, I\'m your man. And I still can\'t get ingame, so please PM me or reply to this post.

Well, I like your guild idea and you seem to be a nice guy so good luck!
Btw, are you the only leader? Or is there another stonebreaker who has taken the place of Rakli Stonecrusher?

Anyway, I hope this guild will last :)

Thnx RedMonk. I am trying to find someone to play the role of the son of Rakli Stonecrusher (because Rakli is deceased). Please post on this reply or PM me if you wish to be Rakli Stonecrusher\'s son (you can have any name you want, as long as it sounds dwarven and medieval).

Also, although this is off-topic, I can\'t seem to get onto my account and if anyone can tell me what to do, I\'d be very grateful (if you can help, please do so as soon as possible, so I can get this guild on it\'s feet).

Many thanks to you all.

Part 2 of the Hammer Lords epic quest for justice, will unravel when I get some more recruits.

PS : You may not have noticed, but I like using commas, as well as proper spelling and punctuation, where possible. ;)
