Downloading Reset!?!?!

Hey all.  I am having a hell of a time trying to complete the planeshift_cbv0.3.008.exe download??? I\'m using a cable connection ( 13.4kb/sec) transfer rate...
  I know it\'s a rather large file (210mb) but when I get about halfway thru it stops download and gives me a message that internet Explorer won\'t finish the download and that it reset or something.
  Does anyone else have any info on how to remedy this problem?  Do I just keep trying or what?

The only place I have found that has the file to download from is the Planeshift website... so I have no other options there....  I really would like to get it up and running if I can manage to download the whole thing.

Your main problem is that you\'re using Internet Explorer. Some easy options would be to use a better browser, or use a download manager program.

I believe you can also download the file from Laanx.fragnetics.com, or use the Bittorrent version.

Ok I downloaded the Bittorrent thing from the Planeshift website but I was unclear exactly what it did/does?  I thought it had something to do with making the game run smoother on the client server... I didn\'t know that it was what I use to actually download the .exe file.  Never had to do that before.  if you could give be some quick pointers on what I should do to accomplish that I\'d greatly appriecate it.  
Also that you MUCH for responding so promptly to my problem... that was FAST!
I did Read your post to noobs/newbies on how to install/run the game but I didn\'t know if anything could be done about the download resets.  

 I\'ve kept trying and it seems to be taking \"Chunks\" of it and then reseting... my total download time keeps dropping... will this complete the entire file eventually so I can run it? I can\'t seem to find the filename on my desktop and I figured it was cause the whole exe file never completed.  

Anyhoo... any recommendations you give me I\'ll try out... and see what can be done!  Thanx much Moogie! Your 1 heck of a Mod!!!

You\'ll need a Bittorrent client in order to download the file that way. Install a client (the default one at http://www.bittorrent.com is fine, or you can search Google for others with more features/functionality).

If you\'re using IE to download the file (which I do not recommend), and it keeps failing/stopping, it\'s not going to save the file. It\'s going to keep re-downloading the same little bit and then fail again. That\'s why I recommended getting a different browser (I personally use FireFox), or a download manager (FlashGet and GoZilla are examples). You can search Google for any of these to find their websites; I don\'t have URLs handy for them, I\'m afraid.

Yea, I downloaded Bittorent 4 but when I go to download PS it and it failed... here is a copy of the log... it\'s all Greek to me but I know it won\'t download.

 That is what I got.  I\'m trying to Download Planeshift_CBV0.3.006.exe from fragnetics now. Hopefully this will work!

I won\'t give up cause this has become a \"mission\" now heheh!!!!
 So until I exhaust all me resources.... Others have downloaded it... So I know it\'s possible!

Now what am I missing or will I hafta patch since this is 006 and not 008?  Thanx much Again!
