Since single binary is not enought, like it used to be ;) I have prepared
a package that includes everything, except art, what is needed to run the
new Planeshift client on Linux. So, you need to already installed old copy
of the game and grab from it the art directory.

What you have to do is:
1. Download http://platyna.xpam.de/planeshift/planeshift.tar.bz2
2. Unpack it: tar -jxf planeshift.tar.bz2
3. Copy or symlink the art directory to package directory (named planeshift).
4. Enter the directory and run psclient by typing ./psclient to start the game.

It is compiled on glibc 2.3.3, if you have some other version I can\'t
guarantee it will work.

It is also required so all these files will be put like they are in the archive.
Some people are trying to copy libs and stuff to /usr/lib and binaries to
/usr/bin - it is not going to work.

If you have problems with missing files in the art directory, run the updater.

Regards.

Terminal says:

DLERROR (/home/borja/Juegos/planeshift/glx2d.csplugin): /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3.4\' not found (required by /home/borja/Juegos/planeshift/glx2d.so)

My Ubuntu (Hoary) only has glibc_2.3.2, is that the problem?

Platyna:
Don\'t tell people that they need glibc 2.3.3 when they really need 2.3.4 ;)

Epicman:
Yeah, you need a newer glibc if you want to run it.

Edit: Runs fine for me :) (thanks to glibc 2.3.4) ;)

Karosh: Whatever you say, I have glibc 2.3.3 installed, it works on 2.3.3
and 2.3.4 - because my friend has tested it. No idea why it demands 2.3.4,
but I had once similar problem with X server package when it demanded
2.3.4, I have installed 2.3.3 and it works.
platinum:/home/platyna$ ls -l /var/log/packages/ | grep glibc
-rw-r-----  1 root root 258927 2004-09-29 19:14 glibc-2.3.3-i486-1

That\'s good if it is broken, better if it works with two versions of glibc than
only one. ;) Anyway if you tested it and it works post here too.

If it cries about wrong glibc version then you have to update to 2.3.4.

Yes i saw that, the only problem now is that i think glibc 2.3.4 is not a package yet in Debian unstable.

Debian is useing libc6 and libc6 = glibc?

How ever the unstable version is 2.3.2 right now, but there is an exprimental 2.3.4 but i don\'t know if it safe to install it.
