Updater Problem
« on: March 29, 2005, 05:44:57 pm »
When i run updater-
-i press update
-it says downloading registry
-then loaded registry
-then server has another updater, going to fetch it
-Updating updater to another build
-An error message comes up saying
Couldn\'t copy file cspngimg.dll
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process (32)
The option retry just recreates the error message and when i press the option cancel it recreates the message with other files until the window disappears and the update begins again. It is the Crystal blue version of the game running on Windows XP.
Please help if you can.

To fix this (worked for me) once that black screen with the error appears, keep the DOS screen open but close the PS updater program. Once that is done click the retry on the DOS screen and it should update.

Close the updater window with the loading bar, and click retry on the window that says there i an error. The error message and the DOS window disappear and the update will restarat and work normally.

You have to X it out not exit the updater..leave the black dos window and the retry/cancel window open.X out the other dos window(if running in --auto mode) or X out the actual GUI updater then hit retry.BTW to do this you need to run the updater in windowed mode not full screen to get the X.

Slightly out of topic-
Someone reported it on the bugs just now so keep an eye on this and that thread for more answers.

To this, the solution of the sticky here works, even if it was originally devided for W9x / WME applies (copying files / unpacking updater.zip).
Simply close the updater and all associated windows and follow the steps in the sticky, but skip all deletion. Just copy / extract files!

When the error and DOS command screen come up, close the main updater window and press \'retry\'
