Thanks Zan! :)

Just checking. Any thoughts for connecting this idea to the PS settings even more? That would make it even better! ;)

If you\'re really serious about this (and by serious, I mean willing to devote lots of time) maybe you could put together a website? Or maybe have a page on the new newspaper\'s website?

Websites aren\'t really my thing but if this festival will become a regular, say a monthy or bimonthly deal then I am definitely planning on getting a website.

I am hoping I make the newspapers but so far I haven\'t seen a place to put ads so I guess I \'ll have to wait to see if they want me in there huh.

Now to connect it to PS even more .. I am still thinking on things to add or perhaps change and will appreciated all help and ideas. So far I \'ve spent the past few evenings on PS checking out loopholes, thinking up games and ways to make sure they are played fair. So I am definitely putting time in this.

I \'ve also talked to Sarrow, the organisator of the montly \"All You Can Eat\" buffets and he is willing to do a great deal of the \'catering\'.

Aside from that there is a chance that we will have an actual theatre troupe perform at the festival of the hunt. Though time may not be available for that one.

So yes I am serious ... but this is still a test run, first of a kind. And websites require maintenance which is why I would like to see if the PS community is ready for something on this scale before I am going to be creating any long term plans. If this thing hits off keep your eyes open for a website though and probably even a guild ;)

About the website...
You could move it a bit further and create Yliakum\'s Cultural Center
Besides signing up for the festival, you could also place there sign ups for theatrical events, storywriting contests or gladiator tournaments.

In such case I would be more than glad to help with the website...

Sounds like a lot of fun and if you need me to help I would happily be a part of the gambling corner. I already know of a dice game that could work easily in PS thats good for gambling.

I would love to have more of these types of events in PS it would really be a lot of fun. Nicely thought up Zan.

Thanks for the support .. it is muchly appreciated and I can still use some helping hands so I will definitely hold you both to that offer ;)

Draklar your proposition sounds very interesting but we \'ll discuss it somewhere else, don\'t want to make this thread too chaotic.

Sadly we have a minor problem now though .. everyone is still a monster. This creates problems as it is now impossible to check whether a character is holding a weapon or not. Also some monsters like clackers and rats have nearly visible attacking moves. I \'m going to bring this up with the gm\'s and hope they will be reasonable ... but I \'m afraid I \'ll have to postphone the event until after we regained our normal forms.

This is a great idea! And I also love the Cultural Centre, though I\'d much prefer an ingame place for this (which I know isn\'t yet possible).

As for the tie-in with the PS world: Have a look at the description of the month \"Quintahl\". It has everyting almost perfectly tailored towards this sort of event!

Quote
from data/gui/zodiacs.xml
Quintahl, the fifth month in the Yliakum calendar year, is representative of the winding down of the crops\' growth and festival planning. Harvest is always a time of celebration, and the Peoples of Yliakum plan decadent parties laden with food and gifts. The sign of Taarev the Hunter embodies the speed and accuracy required to hunt game in the wild, as well as being adept with small blades. Taarev would tire easily, however, and that limitation is passed on to those born under his sign.

Interesting Seytra .. now this might sound dumb but how can I check which month is when? Is there an actual date in the PS world already or do we get to be the first to create it here?

Thanks for pointing it out though.

Cossack 150 carrots are always welcome :) Would you like to hand them out to the crowd yourself or rather just donate them? In case of a donation I \'d prefer the trias to buy those carrots for the obvious reasons that I can\'t carry everyone\'s item donations. But if you are willing to distribute them yourself on the festival all the better.

Well for the time being there is absolutely no way to check the curent in-game month. However, with a bit of will and some effort there might be a chance to (by using the in-game clock) set up an online calendar. I have no knowledge of what it takes to achieve that, but I believe that with developers\' help we could at least have such thing on the main site. I think it would be worth trying, the more that it might end up in spawning of player-made events and/or some sort of holidays.
But once again I have to say it, it needs at least a bit of will...

Well sadly I haven\'t been here for roughly a month so no leveling up on my character. I am sad to hear that all my hard work collecting in the first release will now go to waste :( but yeah that doesn\'t matter just means I am more willing to buy long swords and shields for prizes :D

If you need help on a website I would be more then glad to make one, even maintain it. I get my host back up soon, like two weeks. http://www.dead-crow.com you could just use a redirectional tool like http://www.dot.tk or http://www.dead-crow.com/yourchoice would be the link.

As for the event, I would love to become one of the organisers and dedicate my time to the success of the event. So count me in!

You can contact me on trojanx_@hotmail.com

If you are having the event on the 23rd then I am sorry but I have a large two day lan (300 people :O) that I am attending so you will just have to contact me and I will give you lots of tria for the weaponry and armor or whatever food you need, although 150 carrots seems to be quite a lot. :D

Well good to be back into the community over my absence, back to looking for bugs and participating in events like this!

Thanks for the offers .. a website is already being made though so we are fine there for now.

Help on organising is always welcome, especially if this will become a biannual event and if it \'s up to me the biggest PS will know.

Though this event is already planned on April 23rd so it looks like you won\'t be able to be there.

I \'ll contact you though for the donation and perhaps to arrange some future plans.
