Yeah, I was thinking, maybe just for fun, you could have your character do little actions, like wave, or do a handstand, or whatever. I know it would be completely useless, but just a funny little addon.

One of our long term goals is to develop a character animation application. This would be something where people could load the current models, and move their skeletons around to create new animations.  Basically pose the model in positions and let cal3d smooth them together.   We definitely want dozens of animations for characters for things like waving, dancing, fighting etc.

Bravo! Would the moving the skeleton part be a simple procedure? just click and drag?

That is the idea.  You would be able to drag the bones around in the DOF ( degrees of freedom ) and say \"This pose is a frame in the animation\".  So you would do several poses and see how cal3d blends them together.  This is a *very* difficult application to write though and no work has started on it yet,  but it\'s idea is real .
