I need a planeshift helping hand....
« on: April 05, 2005, 06:35:35 pm »
Ok heres the deal.
My Friend James signed up for a referal scheme for free ipods in the uk - and asked me to be one of his referers.
So I signed up to prove to him that it wouldnt work - only thing is he recieved an ipod mini last week from them cos he\'d get enough people to sign up and complete the offers.

Here is where you guys come in - I have completed my two offers with the site, and got one person to do likewise thusfar.

I need four more kind folk to go to http://www.freeipoduk.co.uk/index.php?REFID=90933
and complete two offers a piece.
The best ones seem to be the ebay one (doesnt cost anything and they send back the referal within a week or so), and the cahoot one.

Anyway - what im asking is, is there anyone in the Uk that can help/would like a free ipod mini?

Was thinking we should start like a scoreboard with who has recieved their ipod etc? how many referals they need to complete etc, and maybe a special in game bounty for people that make referals? I was thinking 500 tria for each person that helps me out? (although you might have to wait for the tria cos im on a mac and we dont have a working client at the mo - unless I can use one of the pc\'s at uni to install PS).

This iPod pyramid scheme has been done here before. See if you can dig up the old thread.

I still wonder why we just dont go out to the store and buy what we want, sure this deal will costs us like a 20-30% discount but these deals take way too much effort.

....well I cant afford ?140 - but I can afford 10 mins of time/effort.
Besides its not a 20-30 percent discount - you dont pay for it at all, if your clever and you complete the offers which cost nothing but your time then you ipod truly is free (minus a few man hours :P  )

....anyhow- what sort of system do you think we should get going here? one  I had though of was that anyone who signs up and completes on my referal link, should get on like a list - there would have to be like 4-5 lists or something, and then they post their referal links and people choose who they wanna go with dependant on reward offered?
I dunno - im beginning to think this will be too hard to organise, ah well - if anyone does sign up using my referal link pm me your email address (and your referal link) and I shall set aside 500 tria for you :D

Oh and yeah they have a sister site with ipod shuffles on - only have to do one offer on that site but unfortunately the offers are all ones which will cost you money.

You know, I hear there are lots of Nigerian gentlemen that also offer fantastic deals that sound too good to be true. And they are such well-spoken and kindly folks too.

If things were this easy dont you think someone would put together some code that filled out the webpage a few million times with random but seemingly authentic details so they could then sit back and wait for the torrent of ipods to sweep in their front door?

Or maybe I am being too cynical and some marketing stooge somewhere will eventually throw a few trinkets your way after you have spent hours doing their job for them without being paid to. What a deal!

Have a browse around http://www.419eater.com when you are feeling up to doing something more productive :)

I usually relish in sarcasm, but after trying to prove a friend wrong in this free ipods business - and getting significantly burned, I am awfully sorry I ever doubted it.

think about it... one ipod mini costs ?140 in the uk.
It takes six people to complete 2 offers each to recieve just one ipod.
The free ipods people must make quite alot of money from each person they refer to each company - advertising is expensive - believe me I work in market research!

Ah well- im too tired to argue the toss but it boils down to the fact that I was sceptical too, and I was proved horribly wrong - my mate adam now has a nice new ipod sat where his cd stack used to be in his car, and I cant help but want to cash in too!

Besides - do you really think that companies like the AA, Ebay, Cahoot and Oxfam would get involved - let alone employ a fraud company to advertise their product? I think not.

...im rambling now - time for bed.
Hi Mogura - check ur pms ;)

go to freeipods.com, it takes 5 or 8 referer\'s, but you only do one offer.
