I use a windows XP system, the updater version 1.0.2.5

says downloading registry
loaded registry
found another updater going to go fetch it...
updating updater to another build

this is were the problem starts, as soon as it tries to copy files, i receive an error for the following-

>file copy error - couldnt copy file cspngimg.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file cssynldr.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file engine.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file freefnt2.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file gl3d.dll

>file copy error - couldnt copy file glwin32.dll

>file copy error - couldnt copy file libz-cs.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file rendstep_std.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file shadermgr.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file updater.exe
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file vfs.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file xmlshader.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

>file copy error - couldnt copy file xmltiny.dll
the process cannopt access the file because it is being used by another process (32)

there are only two choices retry which doesnt work or cancel which is what i have to do.

I hope you get this problem fixed soon.

This is a fairly common probelm, simpley close the first updater window, then click retry, and everything will work. You can make sure you have the first window by selecting the left one in the start menu.

DuirNion, use the damn button.
You can also select everything in the folder \"updatertemp\" and then paste it in the main PS directory.

I wouldn\'t call this \"helping the devs\" as they allready know this bug. If you had searched, you would\'ve known that. Besides that, I don\'t think using the word \"damn\" is swearing, swearing is when I would call you a stupid idiot, oh oops, sorry for swearing.

And learn to spell my name right, I spelt yours right, now return the favor!

Whats the point of fighting?
Both of you made a mistake.. get over it

- DuirNion = You didnt use the Search button.

- ThomPhoenix = Went a little on the hostile side

Nobody\'s perfect and no one should just judge eachother.. as for me, im probably out of line saying what im saying, but someone does  have to do it.

Bottom line. Its all cool.

Peace
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.   :P  Xantherus Icer  :P

ThomPhoenix, flaming newbies was so last tuesday. Chill out dude. :)

DuirNion: You didn\'t do anything to deserve that, so please don\'t feel persecuted in anyway. But to avoid crazy people trying to beat you to death in future, you should probably take Thom\'s advice and use the Search button. :)
