Some recent changes to CS have made current CVS versions incompatible, either ask someone on IRC or wait a couple days and hopefully things will iron themselves out - just keep updating!

TanT, the Crystalspace, cal3d and cel projects that Planeshift CrystalBlue needs all have to be the cvs releases at present.  For crystalspace in paticular, this is a huge deal because the last \'stable\' release 0.98 was a long time ago. Now the page has been updated to add minor revisions, we have  0.98r004 released 7-Sep-2004, but I believe this will have CVS features missing that planeshift needs.

It would be a fine thing if there was a way of tracking checkout-date ranges of good batches of the cvs code of the various projects. For me at least, I have not been able to cleanly compile CS since about 20th of March ( see my thread earlier in the dev forum ). In about the last week or so one of the 2D plugins has also broken, which is a show-stopper for planeshift unfortunately - unlike the java and python plugins which arent used as far as I can tell, this part is absolutely needed by the planeshift renderer.

Anyways, my advice is to persevere and have patience :) A lot of other people build from source also, maybe they have stable snapshots of the sources that they can contribute, or can indicate the dates that are known to have good, compilable code present.

By now the problem should have been fixed.

Lately, CS has gone through some changement concerning its libraries. Some libraries have been substitued by just one big library, called libcrystalspace.

I usually stick to the latest (daily) CVS version of all projects, but I (usually) can fix little problems concerning project files (I use MSVC 7.1) not updated or other little thing.
Anyway, there is an extraordinary support group on #crystalspace (irc.freenode.net) if you have problems with Cs.
