changing character
« on: April 14, 2005, 06:22:31 pm »
I created a temporary character for the purpose of exploration, without any back story. I\'m working on that story now, but as the character is set, I see no way to edit this information. In fact, I would prefer to create a new character, since there is a typo in the name.
If I do that, then my problem is my money. A friend gave me some money (and thus it will be honored, besides being more than a reasonable person would toss away). If I create a new character, how can I transfer the tria between two characters of the same account?
My only ideas are to try signing on onto two computers and meeting myself, or temporarily giving it to someone honest while I change accounts. Is there a way?

You can hide it somewhere safe. (but dont try to hide it in Hydlaa when I am on; I use to lurk there were good hiding places are)

*Kwip raises his eyebrows in intrest*

Well... I am honest :D

Just don\'t listen to this list of people if they say something about me.

*Kwip hands ellipsis a list of names, about a couple thousand actually*

That is my past.. umm.. customer list.  They seem to have something against me even though I helped them all.

hmm, thanks for the offer kwip, I do appreciate it, but I can\'t say I\'m quite in the mood to do something stupid ;-)
And I think hiding it would probably be a foolish idea, given that there are sneaky treasure hunters waiting for me to do so, but it\'s definitely an interesting concept. Leads me to wonder, does money on the ground fade away eventually, or can a treasure be hidden for years? Not that I\'m doing that myself ^^

is like Cyl said, hide it somewhere safe. There are many good places, most outside of Hydlaa (at least in my opinion). Just hope there isn\'t a bug that makes it disappear or respawn somewhere else when you log off and back in again.

Also, is it possible for you to have planeshift on two different computers at once? Make a second account, transfer the money from the one to another, then log off that character and then give the money from the bridge account character back to your new character.

Or, finally, just play the game with a new character, don\'t worry about the money.

I can transfer money if you want. I\'m above petty thievery, besides having enough of my own that I won\'t covet yours. I may not be the nicest person, but I\'m honest. Ask anyone.

That is an interesting question you raised, I wonder how long dropped things last. I\'m not going to be the one to try it out.
