Best thing i read so far
« on: April 15, 2005, 12:20:53 am »
from the cvs history:
- Added duel-point penalty for spamming duel invites.

this should make the life of a pacifist much easier.
Yes i know you could auto-decline them but still this is better.

Your right,

I wish there was a way to \"auto ignore\" people who follow you around and ask you do want to duel?  I am not really into   dueling, perhaps I may be interested in the future but until then do not hound me for a duel request.  I will deny it everytime so don\'t waste your time or mine.  I am simply more interested in exploring.

You can auto-decline duel already. It is in the options screen.

Mentioning pathetic little spammers is a good way to make my blood boil so i\'ll just say that while that\'s a good way I still prefer my idea of somehow being able to mak spammers computers blow up or electrocute those little idiots

Open PK sounds more realistic. People in the real world or in ancient times wouldnt ALWAYS wait patiently until someone accepted their dual. They would unleash their fury upon people they dislike.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.   :P  Xantherus Icer  :P

People in real life wouldn\'t throw their fury either unless if they wanted to go to jail

I say PK would just be a nusance.

Without open pk you have less realistic game. There are numerous actions which may be so great and fun and which can\'t be done because of no open pk.
Nonsense is right now when some mysterious force stops you from doing this what you want. ( I don\'t say i want to kill everythink what i want ) I\'m expecting to have freedoom in what I and others are doing.

it should be thought what to do to prevent players killing each other with completly open pk. Not \"basically completly\" prevent them from doing so by unlogical rule.
In exchange maybe fines? jail? banishment? the things what people will fear and because of that will think twice before kill someone..

What you can failure tommorow, failure today.

there is a whole subforum for that

And drop that realistic argument already....it\'s kind of silly...it\'d be realistic if you could die only once...but i don\'t see any pk people complaining about that. it would be realistic if you could carry only one weapon at the time(i mean i don\'t see how you can carry 3 axes and two sheilds in your backpack)...but i don\'t see pk people complain about that. It would be realistic that murderers should be punished by being hung from the windowsless tower till the end of time. I think the pk people should be realistic and accept the fact that there will be no PKing..

I don\'t miss the pk. This what i miss are situations which can\'t be achieved without that. Hard to explain.
And yes, i do complain about to many items which you can carry. It is actually possible to wear few weapons, but you loose much on agile and speed.
And we have deathrealm after we die like in greek mythology, we dont die permamently it is only simplier to get out from it.
If someobdy is hanged, his sould travels to deathrealm, but i think if he want to get out to his body, he have to find a way to move his body to other place, while he is in deathreal (convince someone else to do so?) Otherwise if he would find a way out, he would die instantly..
Death realm is as unrealistic as magic, only this isn\'t completly realistic game, though many elements should left as they normally are. Pk is one of these.

/me drops conversation about pk with these words

So why not have open pk and have guards that arrest you and put you in jail for a certain amount of time until your free to go?

You can pk basically in isolated areas but your reputation would go down (feature that would be good to be added in) and if u were next to guards or citys, they would kill the pker and put him in jail.

While in jail, you could mine stones or whatnot to decrease your time sentence.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.   :P  Xantherus Icer  :P

If it were me I\'d hang the guilty as charged and remove their character permenantely of the game...

...That should be fair enough :P
