i definately think it should be more of a challange to get out, but let\'s not take away items or money or anything when we fall in... how about drain stamina to the walking point or something when we get in there? or a maze or something to get out... just don\'t get rid of items or money! i work hard to get them... >_<

dude, the death realm is completely sweet. Have you checked out the two opposing doors (Which are currently closed of course) down the snakehead, or noticed the walkway down below? It will be very cool when it\'s made more expansive, and some of those doors lead to something. Then again, perhaps we don\'t want to know where they lead...

My conclusion towards everything: Death is only hard the first time.

You\'re only a newb for a few days, then after that you\'re a normal player. All newbs to new games have learning curves. What\'s the burden you\'re worried about exactly?

yeah, but for people like me who usually only have time to play between releases i.e. MB to CB things can change rather rapidly and make it seem like a new game all over again.  between interface changes and things I have forgotten PS seems both new and familiar at the same time.

My issue is the lighting in there makes it impossible to get out without dying again.

When I spawn in death world, I just use the /spawn command to get out. PLEASE do not disable that command until you FIX the lighting issue.  I would stay and help, but it is rather clear that forum mods feel that they have more than enough testers for their desires.

I will leave, test another game that is more than able to handle a few thousand testers at a time and are interested in new input.

I will likely return in a year or so, long after the wipe and rat fest is over.

The game has the potential to be good, IF people will allow it.

Well it\'s not impossible to get out of the Death Realm, in fact it\'s very easy, I\'ve only died maybe the first two times I tried to get out, but then after I knew the way... it was even too easy to get out!

And by the way... I really think that the Death Realm should keep a low light, a shiny Death Realm just wouldn\'t be so beliveable!

My problem with death realm: Boring. I like exploring (even though I take the liberty to aks questions ingame and here) but PS has a tendency to be rather tedious.
My first trips to death realm where all taken after I fell down a short way - dropping damage is to high in my opinion.
So a reply like \"just don\'t die\" is not very helpful, folks. PS lets you die pretty quick for dummy reasons while you can easily flee any enemy.

To kariloy: I don\'t think Lyrah wants a brightly shining DR... its about seeing nothing while stumbling up a slim, slippery spiral way :)

So far,
MC.

Well, I think the fall damage is realistic.  If you fall more than one meter in game distance, then you take damage.  Anything more than 1 game-meter and the damage is increased exponentially (literally).  /*My character started with 78 HP, so it would take a fall of...13 game-meters to kill my character if my math is correct.  In-game meters seem much smaller than real-life meters, so perhaps the unit is supposed to be in feet.*/
Then again, that\'s only if my math is correct.

Back on topic...
I don\'t think the Death Realm is all that bad.  I think it looks a bit like a Tim Burton film and I happen to like Tim Burton\'s films.  :p

I have a pretty bright CRT monitor at home, though.  The darkness problem isn\'t too bad with it.  It\'s a Dell P991 19\" CRT.  I hear they have a problem with being too bright.
The only complain I have is that the slender pathway you have to take up to the metal grate bridge is too narrow for some of the larger species.  I can\'t imagine how a Kran would easily find its way around it, though I\'m sure many do.

I can\'t wait to see what they\'ll do with those other doors in the Death Realm.  The chains make it look all evil and foreboding-like. ^_^
