Azzeldor

I\'m not sure if this is exactly the right thing to put in here, if it isn\'t I apologize, and take it off, whatever....

I plan to have 3 parts...I\'ve been working on this story for a little while, taking my time...its going to be in parts of 5 pages...(according to microsoft word)

Part one-
_____________________________________________

?Entprepanese~Zemenisia!? A spell Sevienthor never heard before, in fact, he had never seen anything quite like the men that were chasing him right now. He ran down the steep embankment in the thick forest, known as Azzeldor. Running as fast as he possibly could, adrenaline being the only thing keeping him from dropping dead from exhaustion, ?yes, yes, almost there, almost to the vill-? tripping over a root in the ground, and diving over a large fallen oak, hurting his leg, he could not get back up; he could hear them approaching him.

Slowly, he stuck his head out over the enormous fallen oak to get a look at where they were at...and through the mist, he could see a silhouette of five men, or what he thought was men. The two riding on Heishans, (horse like creatures, but much larger, quicker, and quieter) had the largest bows he had ever seen, a knight he believed only existed in fairy tales and two mages, the one had a large silky, blue, robe with brown dragons, and creatures he had never seen before imprinted into the robe, but so life-like, they seemed to jump out at him, the other, had a yellow robe, with trimmed-orange around the edges, and had almost every type of color in the form of stars; they both had large amulets around their necks, like the one he found.

All of the sudden, one mage disappeared, into a bright yellow light. And the other mage casted a spell that made the whole area pitch black. Hiding under the fallen oak, in pain, and breathing heavily, he stayed as motionless as possible, then, he heard a whisper right above him, and it became day again, and all five of the men were standing around him, archers with bows poised, the swordsman with his shining, black, ruby engraved sword ready to thrust, and the mages with their hands behind their backs, smirking. Then, just as the archers were about to let go of the bow-string, and the swordsman about to strike, the wind became incredibly strong, the men barely being able to keep their balance, and Sevienthor felt something grab his hands, but could see nothing, and then he started to be dragged backwards. The men couldn?t catch him; he was being pulled through the woods at an amazingly high speed, then, he knocked his head on something hard, and went unconscious.

Sevienthor woke up in a small hut. Swords and staffs hung up on all the walls around him, and the fireplace burning brightly. He looked outside the hut, he was in the forest still; by a small pond, it was night. ?Sorry about that bump on your head...I?m Tremadosia?? a voice came from behind. Sevienthor turned around, confused, he paused for a second and began. ?Names? Sevienthor. Where am I? and-??What did they want from you?? Finishing the question Sevienthor was about to ask. ?Yea?? replied Sevienthor ?And was that you pulling me through the woods?? Tremadosia lit his pipe with a hot iron from the fire and replied quietly ?Yes...that was me?my bones can barely take that kind of treatment anymore?.and I don?t know why the Xeminos clan was after you?you must?ve had something they wanted. Say?where did you get that amulet?? The amulet had a diamond crystal, and a golden round rim, the necklace holding the amulet was made of silver.

Tremadosia inspected the amulet. ?I was hunting in the forest, and was stalking a deer for a good bit of time, I didn?t realize how deep I had wandered into the forest, just as I was about to throw my spear, something caught my eye, I turned and saw this amulet in these ruins-??What ruins?? asked Tremadosia ?I don?t know, those were the only ruins I was aware of that existed in the Azzeldor forest.?  ?Believe me, there are many, and if this is the amulet I think it is, than they are not after the amulet, they are strictly after you.? Tremadosia replied in a worried tone.

?What? I?ll give them the amulet back, I don?t even want it, I don?t even know what it does!? Sevienthor remarked. And to this, Tremadosia walked over to his bookshelf, and strolled his fingers across the titles. ?Ah?yes? He pulled out a large book from the shelf; blowing the dust off of it, he began searching for a certain page, apparently finding the page he was looking for, ?hmmmmm, don?t want it eh?? Tremadosia handed the book to him. ?Read aloud.?

Sevienthor began to read. ??For whoever even touches the Amulet of Elixe is enchanted with a spell, to be able to use magic, meaning, you do not have to be a pure mage, (to be a mage, you must be born pure, with the magical properties already in you) you are also perhaps the most powerful mage alive once you touch this amulet...? ?Go on.? Said Tremadosia. Sevienthor continued. ?Besides giving you incredible magical powers, as long as you wear the amulet, you will be immune to most magic?.However, the previous one who touched the amulet must be dead, in order for the amulet to cast its enchantment on you.?

Tremadosia took a deep breath. ?You?re in quite a bit of danger, those guys aren?t fooling around, they will hunt you down.? ?I need to get back to my family?
?They in the village?? Tremadosia asked. ?Yes, the outskirts of it.?

?They should be safe there for now, they know you?re still in the Azzeldor forest, so they aren?t going to go search the village for you, the bad part is your family knows you?re in Azzeldor Forest as well, would they come looking for you?? Just then there was a knock on the door, Sevienthor was in the process of unsheathing his dagger, when Tremadosia grabbed his hand. ?No, it?s just my son coming back from the forest, scouting for them.? Tremadosia walked over to the door, unlatched, and opened the door. ?Sevienthor, this is Eriphas? ?Ah, good you?re already up, nice to meet you, you?ll be happy to know, I found no traces of those Xeminos clan members in these parts of the forest.? Eriphas said with a relieved tone.

?Eriphas was the one who helped me rescue you, he?s a half elemental, he?s also the finest archer I have ever seen, and he?ll put up a fight with the sword.? Said Tremadosia.

?Pleased to meet you, and thanks for the help?I?ve seen you in the village before I think-? there was a pause... ?You did? I shouldn?t have been seen?I?m not sure if you know, but there is a price on me and my father?s head to bring back to the castle, dead or alive?? replied Eriphas.

?What? Why? What did you do?? asked Sevienthor. ?Well, its not technically what I did...? Tremadosia interrupted ?Its what I did?I was in the Xeminos clan for a long time, I used to be pals with the men that are after you now.?

?That explains a good bit...Why did you leave?? asked Sevienthor. ?First of all, I never actually went on any assassin missions with them after all?I was trained the way they were, and was a body guard for the leader of the clan, I was probably the best fighter, but I declined on all assassin missions they wanted me to do, so they didn?t trust me. The guard position they gave me, was just to make me loosen up, supposedly to make me think they trusted me, and killing me would be a lot easier, and by that time?I decided to get out of there?and I ended up here over time??

?So, they just want you because you were in the clan at one point, not because you actually did anything wrong?? asked Sevienthor ?Basically?they figure I have information on the guild,  and is afraid I might rejoin....? replied Tremadosia

?We?ll help you; we realize the dangers of these men, and are willing to give all the info, and training you desire. There have been many assassination attempts on our lives from these men, they don?t want us out and around with the kind of information we have on their clan.? Added Eriphas.

?Alright, lets head to bed, and we?ll start the training tomorrow, I?ve made you a bed over by the fireplace.? Said Tremadosia ?Ok, thanks? Sevienthor was happy he could finally rest, a mix of excitement, and exhaustion had overcome him, and after thinking about what had happened, and knowing he?s in good hands, he still worried about his mother, and younger brother back at his house.

The next morning, Sevienthor woke up by a pad on the head, Eriphas was leaning over him. ?Wake up, we got a lot of work to do. Want some soup?? Tremadosia had cooked the finest stew Sevienthor had ever tasted, carrots, potatoes, chicken pieces, onions, could life get better?

?Alright?? began Tremadosia ??I?m going to first explain the characteristics of the five men that were after you, what their strong-points and what their weaknesses are?I?m sure you know that knowing your enemy is important??? Sevienthor nodded his head with all his attention focused on training..

? Ok, good?First of all?, the archers you saw? Not much is different between them, except their names, and what type of arrows they use. Exemeral is, from what I?ve seen, a slightly better archer, he uses regular arrows, and is a very quiet man. The other, Desimonious, uses a type of Bodkin arrow-? ?Bodkin?? Tremadosia looked over to Eriphas, who was fletching arrows. ?Show him?? Eriphas got up, took out his bow, aimed at a suit of armor, tensioned the bow-string, and fired. The regular arrow ricocheted off the plate of armor, and stuck into the wall. ?That was a regular arrow?? said Eriphas ?This is a bodkin arrow?? he repeated the sequence, aimed at the suit of armor, drew back the bow-string, and released. The arrow went right through the suit of armor, and stuck through the piece of wood underneath that kept the suit of armor up. ?The principle behind the bodkin, is simple, it usually has a sharper point than a normal arrow, and it has a more gradual inclined plain. The one big advantage of a regular arrow, is that it?s much more accurate, and can travel much farther distances? Said Eriphas, sitting back down, and continuing on fletching arrows. Tremadosia began ?Eriphas has made a special type of arrow that can travel just as far, and just as accurate as a regular arrow, but can still pierce armor much easier. He takes a bodkin arrow, and spirals the feathers on the end of the shaft, so that when shot, the air pushing against the arrow, turns the spiraled feathers, making the whole arrow spin. This keeps the arrow stabilized.?

?Anyhow...? continued Tremadosia ??There really isn?t much to say about the archers, best bet is to try and take out their quivers. The Swordsman you saw, Marrionso, on the other hand, is very dangerous when it comes to melee fighting. That sword is one of the sharpest blades in the land?He smithed the sword himself, than got the hearts from Red Dragons, who?s hearts become rubies after death; and engraved them into his sword. The black metal he used, is a metal I have never heard of, his armor is made of the same material, nearly indestructible, and highly maneuverable. Take him out at long range. The One mage, Pharamont; the one with the large blue robe, with animal designs on it, is a conjurer. A conjurer is a mage, who specializes in summoning creatures, or changing into a creature. The good thing about this fella? is he can?t use deadly destruction spells? But if he turns into a dragon, that?s a deadly enough spell? He?s second in command in the clan. Learns some immobilizing spells to take him out.?

?And the last?Karafam? Is the leader, a mage too, except he specializes in destruction, and alteration spells. Incredibly powerful, he may be the trickiest to beat. He will attempt to use a telekinetic spell on the amulet, and rip it off your neck?If this happens, you are defenseless against his magic-? ?But, if I have?the amulet on me, how can he use the telekinetic spell?? Sevienthor asked. ?In, the book, it said ?most? magic, telekinetic is a spell I believe is an exceptional.?  ?As I was saying?.your offence is still superior, even without the amulet. ?Your best bet, when he tries to take the amulet off you?that is, with telekinetic grab, he will be defenseless while performing the steady spell. Strike him quick.?

There are many others in the clan, but they rarely leave headquarters. These are the top assassins in the clan. Eriphas will work with you in archery and sword fighting, while I get my items together.

Sevienthor followed Eriphas out of the hut and into a field that had several types of targets.

?We?ll start you out with a short-bow, these aren?t as powerful, or accurate, but they are more easy to handle, so sometimes, you can shoot arrows at a much quicker speed.?
?If your going to take me to the longbow later...just give me it now; I prefer beginning with the thing I?m going to end up with.? Sevienthor insisted. Eriphas raised an eyebrow?than took the shortbow from Sevienthor, and handed him a bow two and a half times the size. ?Okay, I?m sure you know the basics of how to use a bow considering you were hunting in these forests?? Sevienthor took a arrow from Eriphas?s quiver, set it onto the bow, pulled back the bow-string, aimed at the horse that had a wooden knight on top of it, and released. The arrow bolted out so fast, it was nearly unseeable. ?You hit the horse?s head. You don?t want that to happen, what if you need that horse for an escape? Still, was a good for shot for a first time, with such an enormous bow.? Eriphas and Sevienthor continued the training on archery until it was lunch time.

When they walked into the hut, and sat down at the table, Tremadosia put down a book in front of him, ?The Art of Elusiveness?. ?Not only, do I want you to train yourself physically; but you will find that training your mind is just as important. This book will teach you how to escape detection, and become invisible no matter where you are.

Beautifully written, although I found several flaws:

*People don\'t have \'innane\' magic; all magic is learnt and cast from Glyphs.

*There are no dragons in Yliakum.

*It would be nice to know what race everyone is. I assume they\'re all Ylian for now, they sound pretty human. :)

yea...thats the thing, why I said \"it may not belong here\"....it isn\'t actually about planeshift...I mean, its based around a similar subject..medievalish....magic....races....(btw, I\'ll get to the races in a later time...mainly these are human...but there are other races...

No problem, although I\'ll have to move it to Hydlaa Plaza then. :)

I\'m interested in seeing the rest, anyways. Keep up the good work... and maybe write a story for Planeshift next? :D

It would be easy enough to change a few things around to fit in PS. Then it could go back. :)

I found your dialog hard to follow at times. Try dividing the different characters\' speach a bit.

Other than that, it has a good hectic feel to it.

@Moogie> ;( You never gave CoS a rave review. And you never even started CoS;SM. I feel so neglected. :P ;)
