Loading Error

Ok i got ps the other day and when i click it to open it, it does just fine.  I go to my character and click join. All is good.  Not for long though.  There is that loading screen with the server MOTD and the picture of the city and it will sit for like ten minutes doing nothing. Once it gets started loading the blue bar at the bottom i soon get a message saying unexpected error at.....blah...blah...blah...and it closes out. It has only gone to the actual game one time.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG. I have tried screwing with the setup and nothing new has happened.  Does anybody have any idea of what to do...

Oh and by the way im using Windows XP and have a T1 connection so...

did you update the game?
try turning off sound

Hi, welcome to the forums, Mafongzhaou.  For future reference, replying to your own posts if no one else has posted yet is bad form.  Use the edit button found at the top of your post.

About the crash...please try to give more information about your hardware.  Read Talad\'s thread entitled \"README FIRST!\" in the Technical Help forum.  Also, you say it crashes when loading the game.  At what point does it crash?  The very end, loading the game, or somewhere in between?

Do as Dragonfire999 says and try running the updater.  If that does not fix your problem, then disable the sound through the Setup program.  Also, if you were prompted to save a diagnostic file, do so and post the results in this thread (only if it still crashes with sound disabled).
