Blades For Hire
« on: April 26, 2005, 05:21:17 am »
Blades For Hire: A group of radical mercanaries who have simple values and worship the almighty Tria. Blades For Hire has no true alliance they fight for who pays them and only yeilds to those only of a higher rank in the guild. The ranks are simple and are as follows

Masamune \"Leader\"- Euphrates
Excalibur \"2nd in command\"
Diamond Sword \"General\"
Golden Sword \"Highest Regular Mercinary\"
Silver Sword \"Medioecre Mercinary\"
Bronze Sword \"Lowest Ranked Mercinary\"
Dagger \"Mercinary in training\"

Obviously payment will be regulated by ones rank as of now prices are not set. Mercianaries can be hired for any reason one wishes be it guild wars or role playing assistance. A 10% tax fee will be deducted from Mercinary to pay Guild and make sure we stay active and provide our warriors with what they need. Also embezilment will be found out please don\'t try it because that character will forever be on my personal hitlist.

To join you must either fight the Masamune or Excaliber in a duel and judging on how well you did will dictate whether or not you are to be in the guild. Once in you will have a two day probation era where either the Masamune, Excalibur, or Diamond Sword General
will train, evaulate, and assign you a position. To advance in a position you must duel another mercinary in that rank with either of the three highest ranks present to watch.

Remeber you are getting paid for a service. Every battle isn\'t a garuentee but this guild will only have the best of the best and our record will be a winning one. But if in some way your customer is unsatisfied with the way you roleplayed, fought, or generally acted suspension and further action maybe tried against you.

Also any grudge held against one of our own is a grudge of ours always help comrades in battle
unless in the likley event you were hired on opposite sides of a guild war then there are no brethern.

RULES OF THE GUILD- All of these have been stated prior to this but this is a summary of what goes on.

10% of the money per mercinary will be deducted for tax purposes
The chain of command is law
To advance in rank you must beat a mercinary of that rank
DO YOUR JOB! You\'re getting paid make sure your customer gets what they\'ve paid for
Training is a constant aspect of this guild we will be feared and to do that is to be the best
We are a family until paid otherwise
Embezilment is not a good idea and will be found out
There is a two day probation era until a mercinary is admitted to sword status

Also I realize that a site is required and one will be made wedsnday April 27th when I\'m not on 28kbps dial up :).  The URL will be www.freewebs.com/bladesforhire.html
Post here or somehow get ahold of me if you\'re interested.

Sounds pretty interesting. The only things I\'d suggest are adding some background story (where\'d this guild come from? why was it founded?) and perhaps detailing the guild benefits and responsibilities a little bit more (you have a good summary, but it should probably be expanded). I think that a similar guild already exists, but a little competition never hurt anyone, eh?

I agree. It is a pretty interesting concept. I could imagine a bunch of the more \"shady\" characters for roleplaying would fit into it nicely. Nothing for the \"pure good\" side of things. ;)

Ah. More competition for the Mercs.

Good luck with your guild.

One thing I found interesting. I take it this is a strictly physical combat guild? Blades For Hire would seem to exclude mages and/or anyone interested in anything other than using a pointy object to stick others.

Hmmm, they could use magic to strengthen their blades... or just as a backup. Afterall, if it\'s easier to be a merc without magic, why bother? But if magic gives them and edge (:P) they will add use it I bet.

Nice pun. :P

I\'m just saying that if they do use magic, then their name is technically incorrect.

I would change your ranks if you are not too attached to them.  Try to be a little more creative :).

Thanks for all the input and yea the ranks are for sure temporary my second is kind of a geek about the mythical swords and lingo so he\'s making me a list of them. As for magic just to clarify I don\'t really have a problem with perhaps as Phinehas said with adding a little spice to the pointy object we\'re sticking them with ;). But I\'m not to keen on the whole pure mage deal. Thanks again guys

Indeed. I don\'t have a problem with that, I was just interested in knowing if it was so or not.

How\'s business?  Have the Merc\'s gotten any commissions yet?  I\'m looking forward to that.
