is planshift worth it?

i have recently found out about planeshift.. how long does it take 2 download and is it worth it? wot do u do in planshift? i finished playin runescape about 4/5 months ago( i got bored of it,the graphix were crap and it gave me spyware wich lead 2 a virus on my highly protected pc! ) i have been looking 4 a free 3d mmorpg 4 a long time and hope that planeshift is wot i hav bn lookin 4! cud u plz post bak wit info about planeshift and any other free 3d mmorpgs!......(woops i spelt planeshift like \"planshift\")

The only info you \'ll need is that planeshift is a work in progress .. with progress being the keyword.

I doubt you \'ll like it for long personally.

Hm....I don\'t know.  I don\'t think you would really appreciate it.  Generally people in the game spell properly and use correct English grammar, unless of course English is not their first language.

Planeshift is pre-Alpha, meaning many things are not yet implemented in the game.  The story is grandoise in nature, but as far as actual things having been coded, it\'s nowhere near completed.

There are many things to do however, such as role play, explore the world (there are only two cities in it thus far).  If you decide to play the game, please remember that it is a role playing game and players look down upon the use of Internet slang.

And lastly, your download time depends on your Internet connection speed. If you are a broadband user, it might only take an hour and fifteen minutes.  If a narrowband user, it might take upwards of two days or possibly more.

All in all, most people on these forums will tell you the game is worth it. Remember that it is pre-Alpha, though and there are bugs that need to be worked out.

As long as your willing to play the game accordingly to how it\'s supposed to be played (primarily via rolplaying)you won\'t be looked down upon.

Just use help when you have questions in the game, don\'t beg for money, at least try to talk in a medieval fashion if you do decide to ask questions outside of help, and you should be fine. :p

I personally won\'t judge you by how you\'re talking now as long as you play right in the game

No planeshift isn\'t worth it at all. It\'s a waste of my time and your time and everyone elses time. You should go back to rs it\'s the best game ever. Oh and rs didn\'t give you a virus, your unprotected comp did though. And learn to spell, please...

Oh and by the way you talk planeshift is\'nt what youve been looking \"4\"  :rolleyes:

The community is what it makes itself to be.   If the community is good it is because the people are good.  I am thankful that people are understanding enough to realize that this is our hobby and something we do in our spare time for fun.  Not because we want to be \'uber\' developers or make lots of money ( although...  ).  All I can say is that it will be worth it in the long run.  How long?  Probably pretty long but it\'s the journey and not the destination...

Hi I am also new here and since we\'re at this this topic I\'d like to add someting which I have encountered. I\'ve been playing many various rpgs these years. Now I have found this Planeshift. I saw from the screenshots and reviews, it seems great   .

What I wanted to ask is, while playing in game, do we, the players, have to speek old english? That is: Dost, thou, thee, ye, alas, etc....?? Not that I find it very difficult, thus even for other players it would be a bit of difficult to manipulate the right words at that time in a split of a second.

One more question... You were saying about downloading the game. I am still trying to download it with BitTorrent as it was written. I have DSL/Cable 256K. I do not know how it works abroad. It takes me about 6 days to download it. While for our country 256K is sort of the minor average of people who have DSL. Is it because the country difference? Or just the connection?

I\'ll try to answer some of your questions.
Old english is welcome but not neccesary. Just speak proper english, if it\'s not your first language it\'s not a problem, make mistakes.
When i say proper english i mean not internet speak no l00t or whatever. When talking to other characters try to stay in character if you have a technical problem. go to help channel, someone will answer.

oh yeah it bears repeating ...this game in in pre-alpha stage a lot of things are not functioning, just don\'t expect a complete game and you will have fun.
Oh yeah always the forums before asking questions, read the players guide before playing.

Well internet speak and leet just means dont use things like Uber, lol, rofl, lmao, 4, u, etc. Speak in complete centances.
Also, when you\'re in game talk like you REALLY are in the game. So don\'t talk about the forum or anything that doesn\'t exist in the game.
