I live in Hungary, and it took me 50 minutes to download the whole planeshift client with chello :) Long live cable-net!!! What I like about planeshift is that it doesnt lag, and doesnt crash in midgame which is a nice achievemnet for a pre-beta. Developement is proceeding a bit slow though, so it may take years till planeshift will be truly exciting --- thats how it is when programming without salary. I am also spending some time now writing an rpg, but I\'m really discouraged on spending my free time on developemnet after 8 hours of boring payed work.

I don\'t really see a problem with \"lol\" myself. It\'s an abbreviation of an action- one that everybody knows. Although it does fall into the \"leetspeak\" category, I don\'t think it sounds as bad as \"omg\", \"u\", \"4\", \"wtf\", etc, because none of those are an action like \"lol\" is.

Anyways, Aegikan. Speak however feels the most natural to you. \'Proper\' English is most welcomed, and roleplaying will win you much respect and admiration here. :) Welcome to PlaneShift and hope you have fun!

The bad thing is I am still downloading the file  :( . Don\'t know why it says 1kb/s or 0kb/s only :/ Anyways at least it still downloading  :D  and in few days time I will be playin\' :D:D  :P

Well if you\'re downloading it with BT, it\'s probably slow because people don\'t share it, but if you\'re getting it from the main site, it\'s probably slow because of the host. Anyway, I think what\'s needed is just some more mirrors for the download. That\'d really do the trick right now.

It\'s very nice to see none of the above language. If most players actually communicate properly I may waste lots of time with this game, even if it is in it\'s prepubescent stage (the game I mean)..

RS really did suck like hell.
Planeshift is great. I quit RS this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better.  More skills, better graphics, everything is better! (except for the fact that its not done yet)
PLAY PLANESHIFT!
I don\'t know why people are criticizing it.

Oh, and I agree with everyone else.  Use propper spelling and grammar.

Anyways, you don\'t have to \'speak\' in completely correct english grammer (while you roleplay).  Uloim, my main character, speaks in... a different manner.

EXAMPLE:  \"Greetin\'s, human!  Th\'name\'s Uloim Oakenshade.  Care t\'spare a few tria?  Oh, thankyeh!\"

He speaks english, just not... the best english. ;)

Welcome to all the new people. Please ignore the fact that the first few replies all stated peoples complaints and insults, and yet they still come to the forums!

Download the client, and come on in. If you see us in game, strike up a conversation. Hopefully I\'ll see you in the bar soon. Some of us are not disenchanted whiners, and do appreciate the developers giving us something to play that doesn\'t require my over-used credit card.

As far as the elitist attitudes goes, please try to forgive them. The Planeshift world, just like the real world, needs all types.

Planeshift rocks! For a MMORPG in Alpha to even be open to the public is usually unheard of! The graphics and capabilities of this game blow me away everytime I logon. This game is supposed to be about role playing, so as someone who isn\'t very good at it, I really appreciate the effort the devs have put into all the things you can do if you aren\'t very good at role playing. That runon sentence just about sums it up for me. Just when I thought I\'d gotten bored with it, I remember that they do a fairly large update just about every month. So I was logging on just once a month for a few days to see what was new. Lo and behold I can level up skills I thought were maxed! So now I\'m getting back on just about every day. OK, I know the role players are gonna look down on me, but that doesn\'t stop me from having fun killing mobs and trying to find areas and bugs I haven\'t found yet. And once in awhile I even get to try role playing a little. I really am lousy at it tho. LOL.  Planeshift is a great platform if you just use your imagination. Even us RP challenged folk can  have fun on PS.

welll.... if you ever hope to  find any freinds or anything oin planeshift you have to stop talking like some spazed out \"1337\" kid.    typeing is  a very nice asset to  your planeshift life.
planeshift is a work in progress and only in alpha beta just yet.  i dont think you will like it somehow.. but  having said that i  guess it would be worth a try .  come in . find out whats its all about. have fun. one thing i can say for planeshift is that the community is flipping excellent.

no you see. planeshift is in its alpha beta stage AND YET it is still better than runescape !
