lol Kiramon, I do know what you mean. I\'m a little paranoid of that myself and I\'m the other way around in the game :P

BTW, I live in Canada, though if I was in the states I\'d probably be a democrat at this point (not that I really care :P).

Also (to stay on topic), I like Cyl take on things actually (along with Annah of course ;)).

hmm well still a core of players still here but I agree many are leaving aswell. Not always the ones I expected to leave either. It seems like the ones complaining are sometimes the ones most loyal to the game. Go figure ;)

Anyhow I\'m new in the fact I only looked around MB a few times and only started the minute CB was released. (Friends in RL ;) ) but seen many leave and the game change, but many stay and many try to make the best of a not ideal situation.

I\'d have to say that in reality the only way the oldbies are \"better\" is because they already understand what works, and what\'s necessary, for RP, guild-making, etc. etc. etc. So yes, it\'s basically amassed knowledge, technically if a \"newbie\" could come into the game with all this, then they wouldn\'t be any worse than the \"oldbies\". I have yet to see this happen, though. There are smart newbies, but none who understand PS as thoroughly as the oldbies.

At the same time, I realize that there is such a thing as a stupid oldbie. Those are people who are totally clueless even though they\'ve been around forever and/or think they\'re awesome just because they\'ve been around(off and on) for years. Often they don\'t actually know squat. Arrogance is one of the products of this.

Personally, I think people who understand PS deserve the respect, not people who\'ve been around for a long time, often though, those are the same people.

The game I primarily played before this game, Subspace/Continuum, was horrible for that. Many of the so called \'oldbies\' were extremely arrogant, and actually got even more arrogant as time passed. Not all of them, but a good majority of them.

Because of this, I found that game to be fun if you were playing in the \'not so skilled\' squads than in the \'elite\' squads, just because the players were more down to earth and not stuck up their you know whats. ;) Eventually, after developing my skills, I was actually able to help bring up a couple of the squads I was on up a few ranks, which was kind of nice.

Anyway, before I go way too off topic, I am quite proud of the Planeshift community for not being so ...arrogant. :) I hope this stays, even with the possible threat of powerlevelers.

It\'s a common argument over semantics.  We\'re arguing because we feel like arguing or else because we feel like advancing our opinions on the matter.

Gernerally, an oldbie is considered to be a person who has spent a considerable amount of active time within a community.  Oldbies can lose their status through inactivity, as is currently happening to me.  The other defining element is fame.
The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

I have one point to make here...how can we be arguing when we\'re all agreeing with each other?

/me scratches head

It\'s in nature of the human race to want to be aknowledged and that others have the same opinion as you.
