Chat Crosstalk
« on: May 02, 2005, 01:47:52 am »
On several occasions I\'ve seen messages in the Communication window which I *should not* have recieved. These include GuildChat and GroupChat for guilds/groups to which I do not belong, /tells probably not meant for me, /says from characters apparently in other regions, and on one occasion a \"You tell...\" message that was obviously from someone else\'s conversation.

This happens infrequently, perhaps once in several hours\' play, and at extremely irregular intervals. From conversation, I\'m aware that other players have also encountered this. I\'ve noticed it in every region except the sewers, which I haven\'t visited recently.

I have also submitted this to BugTracker as bug #635.

The developers have been trying to fix these packetloss issues for many months. I believe someone tried to implement a fix some time ago, and I hadn\'t heard of the problem since then. Have you been receiving these mis-tells recently?

Edit: Misrouting then. Packet misrouting. Happy Tange? :P (jk :D)

I just checked my chat log, and the most recent was on Saturday night (2005-04-30 at 11:45 p.m. EDT) when I overheard a conversation on the Group channel. Prior to that was a week ago (2005-04-23 at 2:00 a.m. EDT); I got a \"You tell Dramus...\" message when I hadn\'t /told Dramus anything.
