The Birth of Keldjan kol Granbanast
« on: May 02, 2005, 05:39:41 pm »

Greetings, I am Xirius Dolaktisht. I have searched many levels and many cities in Yliakum after leaving my village, and decided Hydlaa and it?s vicinities are the perfect place to begin my mission. Let me first tell you about Keldjan: It is a philosophy of life, a way of thinking, similar to Esteria and Lah?ar. It is a concept of polar duality and that the whole is greater than the individual. We believe that Fire and Water, Crimson and Cerulean, the Red and Blue Ways represent this well. Of course, these ways are by no means a limit, all magical ways are welcome, as well as any other profession.

Now, if you would care to read the story of how I first encountered Keldjan, please do so: http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=16321&boardid=15&styleid=3&sid=00eec9c3a24ca7fec7dabbc966752674 Otherwise, below is the structure of the guild:

These are our core beliefs, this is Keldjan:

Everyone is born without knowledge, it is our responsibility to teach them
Nobody is innocent
The end always justifies the means.
There is no good or evil. There is only desire and will.
Apart, we are nothing but droplets. Together we are the flood.

Alignment:

Evil in a good way, chaotic to others and lawful to ourselves, but never neutral. In essence, we are deeply passionate but unaligned.

These are our goals:

To spread the word of Keldjan throughout the land.
To serve Keldjan, the apotheosis of our dreams
To recruit worthy members who represent a variety of skills and races in Yliakum.
To participate in roleplaying to the highest degree while also becoming great leaders in the community.
To create our own community which will have earned the respect of even those who do not follow Keldjan.

These are our rules:

No challenging people without proper introduction
Show respect to all, even enemies (before you slaughter them). An enemy is a potential recruit.
Be as active as possible, in game and in the guild
No armed weapons or fighting when inside any character-run building, i.e. Kada\'s, The Broken Door, The Temple, The Library etc.
When speaking about real life, the player must type ?ooc? in some form.
Follow all rules laid down by the devs, mods and gms
No acting like a n00b... If everything goes well, there won\'t be any n00bs recruited in the first place, but mistakes are always made...

Hierarchy: (tentative, it is likely to change slightly as the guild grows)

New Initiate: You have just been invited to the guild. You will be at this level until you have participated in a secret initiation ritual.
Brother / Sister: The lowest full member, to be promoted you must complete one of the guild?s quests and roleplayed at least once with a newbie not in the guild.
Apprentice: At this level, you will be able to invite new members to the guild. To be promoted, you must complete another two quests as layed down by the guild council and attended at least one initiation ceremony as well as doing a lot of roleplaying in general.
Knight/Mage/Wright: Same abilities as the Apprentice, you are simply a more respected member. As a Knight, you must be an adept fighter, as a Mage, you must be able to use magic and a Wright is a craftsperson, which will be producing for the guild (when it is implemented). Further promotion is based on contributions to the guild decided on by an Adept, Paladin, Sorcerer, Artisan or a member of the council.
Adept: A skilled member in the arts, you are able to promote and remove others from the guild and are thus a highly trusted member. Promotion is based on serving the guild well, roleplaying often, attending rituals and completing quests. You must also lead some initiation ceremonies.
Paladin/Sorcerer/Artisan: Similar to a Knight, Mage or Wright in title, you are now leaders in the respective catagories. You are also able to reward points for the completion of quests and activities the guild and thus are able to issue them as well. Again, you must oversee some initiation ceremonies as well. This is the highest level until the High Council of Keldjan.

The Council: The high council will decide on matters such as alliances, the creation of quests within the guild, organising the website etc.

Harbinger of Keldjan There are twelve positions here, one for each race. You are responsible for the running of the guild and managing of most matters.
Sentinel of Keldjan Highest guardian and rank, this position is for the most devoted of followers.
Master of Keldjan The leader of the guild, but of course still subject to all the rules

There will soon be a website up, for now, if you are interested in joining, please send me a private message on these forums, or find me when I frequent the game: I am usually online between 3:00 and 6:00 GMT.

Finally you got Lynx to say something nice...

But what you have put together is very good indeed.  Obviusly you possess the ability to write and rp.  You have done well for yourself however I dont know if I like the rules and goals so much but that is just preference.

PS:  Does saying \"Chaotic to Others\" make since when you seem to be a guild that has some degree of order.  Because of course the word is derived from Choas.  And everything else you include is about how you are one.  Do you know what I mean?

*stands up applauding*

Nicely done, if only more of the new guilds/organizations would be of that caliber, I would be a whole lot happier.

By the way, is it actually a guild, or a \'religous\' organization?

I have just noticed your symbol, it fits well for your guild (somehow reminds me of the old Yin and Yang)

Nobody is innocent [Something that a n00bish chaotic good guild would say.]
The end always justifies the means. [All n00bish chaotic guilds (and true neutral), likely some n00bish neutral (as in chaotic\\neutral\\lawful) ones too]
There is no good or evil. There is only desire and will. [N00bish self-hating chaotic evil guild.]
Apart, we are nothing but droplets. Together we are the flood. [Yeah, yeah...]

Alignment:

Evil in a good way, chaotic to others and lawful to ourselves, but never neutral. In essence, we are deeply passionate but unaligned. [Basically, they don\'t know what they are, they haven\'t thought about it enough, and once they will they\'ll post 5 threads about it.]

These are our goals:

To spread the word of Keldjan throughout the land. [Any other n00bish chaotic guild, very likely all n00bish evil guilds too]
To serve Keldjan, the apotheosis of our dreams [Of course...]
To recruit worthy members who represent a variety of skills and races in Yliakum. [Right...]
To participate in roleplaying to the highest degree while also becoming great leaders in the community. [Most likely \'roleplay\' just like Diablo is a roleplaying game.]
To create our own community which will have earned the respect of even those who do not follow Keldjan. [I.e. they want to become the biggest and baddest guild. Show me one who doesn\'t.]

So Niavard, it looks to me more like a n00b guild that tries to disguise itself by shouting \"r0l3pl4yz0r!!!!11111111111 w3h t4h r0l3pl4yz0r!!!!!11111one! w3h 1337!1111111two\". Don\'t get too excited.

*Phinehas chuckles.*

Well, this will be interesting... Enjoy your petty beliefs. Personally, I believe that these strange philosophies stem from a weak man\'s need to believe in something bigger than himself. We will see.

OOC: Good job in your preparation. We\'ll have to see what happens. Oh, and Saint, that opinion of yours wasn\'t exactly objective. Give credit where it\'s due. Even I do that.

I think most humans in real life are weak by nature period. Some people go insane from it even. (Muahahahaha) ;)

Anyway, I like the ideology of this guild actually. You\'ve obviously put a lot of thought into it, and it is very open and very adaptable to roleplaying. I honestly hope this guild stays. :)

PS: You core beliefs kind of freaked me out. They\'re almost like mine in real life. o.O

Alright, and why would I be in dire straits? I\'m Athiest anyway. I\'m not affecting any religion (cept for maybe the solicitors that knock on my door) :P

PS: I\'ll have to analyze your real character, there could be something hidden inside of him. ;)

\'Real\' character in the game. There\'s always an inside and an outside to a person, so I guess I mean trying to analyze the \'outside\' to see any patterns to indicate the \'inside\'. (God I\'m weird today)
