Boredom/Teduim-> Fun
« on: May 03, 2005, 03:25:19 am »
Ok before I start this post, I would like you to understand that this is in no way a complaint, but rather an idea that would make this game more fun for me personally.

Ok, I know the reason why most (emphasis on not ALL people) people play MMOs and RPGs is because the mild addictive factor of getting more \'exp\' and advancing as you go through the game to become stronger, but when I play MMOs, I play, not to roleplay, or to train on large rats for hours to become stronger, but I play to explore and see new things that are interesting and exciting. So, inconclusion, it would be great if rather than focusing totally on more skills and things (though they are cool), how about a little more attention on new maps and areas to explore? Not that programmers and the 3d graphics team aren\'t doing enough.. more of a small thought to take into concideration.

There is a whole road out of town that hasn\'t been opened yet.

I know what you mean, though.  Recently, I decided to turn into a beggar.  There\'s no money around, so it makes sense.  But it gives me an excuse to approach people IC and just interact with them.

I had this great Joe Pesci moment on the game tonight.  I, meaning Mulla, met a guy named Rakal, I think.  Anyway, he was playing the very mysterious stranger.  Almost everyone in PS wants to be the dark, brooding hero, but this guy had it down.  He refused to speak clearly and didn\'t say much, but he responded to my sidekicky antics of dancing around like Fagan sizing him up.  It was like the beginnig of a Buddy Cop movie.  Really great.

I think one of the problems is that noone is playing the sidekick, everyone here is the hero.  I\'ll be the sidekick, I don\'t mind.

There would be more sidekicks if there was a real need for a boss to be followed by a bunch of sidekicks, and for a guy to be within the protection of the group.
For the moment: no need, only will of roleplay :). So be yourself, no matter what they say...

all he\'s trying to say is that it gets boring in a while if the quests doesn\'t work and there are only 2 cities. why cant they make like a small editor where you can create your own maps? people would go crazy and make huuuuuuuge areas, of course the must be tested and only the best ones can be in the game. this is open source right?

And how would we do that? How long and tiresome would a map editor be? Why can\'t you submit maps created through 3DSMax? A map editor is the only editor we arn\'t considering making for PS. Simply put, it would suck. It would suck, even if we wasted another 5 years developing it instead of the game.

We\'re addressing more urgent needs right now, such as actually adding more content and expanding the world.

As for an editor, no need for the PS team to be making one, when http://cstudio.sourceforge.net/ is already in the making :) I think this must have been mentioned elsewhere already, but there ya go ;)

I agree with Moogie.

 The current PS world is large enough already for the moment. There are deep dungeons, high towers, sewers, forrests and hills to explore. I have been playing PS for .. *counts* .. about 5 months now and I still discover new places regularly.

I think they should focus on bringing more content to the game by implementing crafting, etc. Right now all a character can do is fight, mine and trade.

Me and another guild mate are the body guard of a third guildmate.  While we\'re the muscle, he\'s training to be a great wizard.  So yes, there are instances where one individual is under the protection of others.
