fixing the updater
« on: May 05, 2005, 12:46:35 am »
hi!

i tried to install ps on a linux (debian) machine

the installation finished without a prob (great installer :) ) and after updating i noticed the trouble with connection the server.

after searching i found the correct updater version (3-0009-1 or something)
and here comes the trouble:
its say i should just copy the file into my ps directory (the directory, where ps is installed) and start the updater (psupdate)
but after i copied the files (they overwrote some old files), the updater wont work any more (error: curl not found in path)

whats the prob? shall i copy them to the updatertemp-dir?

ok, perhaps i shall reformulate the question:

is there another client for linux beside the 3-007-1?
and if not, how can i update the updater to vers 3-009-1 using the files found here http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=13494&boardid=33&sid=e976cc8a59da3f0fde0472cf3515adc3&page=1 ?

when i replace the old files in the ps-directory by the ones from the archive, the updater wont work anymore
