an NPC bartender

i think it would be cool to have an NPC bartender and the ability to buy a drink for oneself or for another.  This would encourage socializing, and, I think, RP.

...there are bartenders, real people named Phinehas and Kada and a couple others (sorry to those of you I forgot). Great roleplaying there. No need to change it in my opinion. There is an NPC bartender at the Broken Door in Ojaveda though.

Perhaps you have never been in Kada\'s when there\'s someone there behind the bar, that\'s understandable. Perhaps an NPC to run it when Phinehas and Kada and others (sorry again) are not in.

I agree that it is more fun for us players to be the barkeep instead of an NPC. Of course there isn\'t one available all the time but usually whenever there is a group of people someone takes up the task of handing out drinks.

oh ok.  I guess the problem is that I usually play at midnight PST, which is when the rest of the world sleeps.

I just realized that that sounds horribly ignorant.  I should have said when the rest of the US sleeps.  The rest of the world works.  or does something that involves not playing planeshift and thus not tending bar.

having a tavern  would be good for socalizing and maybe a good place to find friends that would like to go monster slaying with you for fun. You cold just put it in one of the empty houses in Hylaa Plaza and set the others to be sold to game players. That would be a dream come true in a fantasy MMorpg world.

Don\'t tell me that you didn\'t even read the previous posts! :rolleyes:  Their very content proves that there already is a tavern ingame! In fact, there are two taverns.

There is a tavern in Hydlaa by one of the sewer entrances and one in Akkaio, Ojaveda if you can\'t find the taverns

Of course it would be more fun if we dwarfs could see over the bar! Maybe a soapbox to stand on behind the counter could be installed?
