Finally - Femaly Ylian
« on: May 14, 2005, 07:34:27 pm »
Hi there!
i\'ve been working on a female ylian model in my free time for the past 2 weeks, thanks to the refrence images by cherppow the model really looks great. It\'s untextured now, but i\'ll texture it soon or maybe someone else skilled at textureing can make it\'s skin??

I modeled this to get it ingame, i want it to be ingame so what do you think??

and i hope this will get inside....

They are large because i didn\'t modeled her naked, it\'s her shirt covering them, and the breasts are as they were in the refrence images.
If other ppl have same opinion about them i can make them smaller. Please i want feedback on this.

hmm pretty good, I must admit that I would rather say if I wanted it ingame, after it has been textured.

But as Rosmer said, the breast\'s really looks strange - so that should be fixed before texturing IMO, other than that pretty good :)

EDIT: little late with post it seems -.- well then if that explains the breast\'s then sure I look forward to see it textured :D - also don\'t mind about the breast being too big, just see the Female Ynnwn model! \"boy\'s like \'em big\" :P

I include only front refrence image, you better see the image from three views as drawn by cherpow so you can better comment on it:
http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=9622&boardid=22&page=5

I\'ve also edited the image; Added a render from side so breast size can be guessed more easily... Now do you still think they are large???
*Wonders, who in Europe hates large breasts...!*

And yeah once the model is final, i\'ll start texturing.

New picture is much better than last one, and well the link you posted... leads to an empty thread, just thought you might wanted to know this ;)

Looks good, but I have an issue with the form of the face: it looks like it is converging to the chin, like in \"Army Of Darkness\" after Ash came out of that book. :)

I think the chin needs to be less protruding.

You should ask the devs if the hair should be in the model, I remember something about separate hair meshes, which will be required for the customisation...

I find the breasts too big, too, something which irritates me about the Fynwnn model as well. Then again, this should also be selectable in the end, just as muscles, fat and height. *comes back to reality* Awww.

... I don\'t think we ever had a female Ylian model in MB o_O

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

You need to feminze the model. Make her look thin and tall, not short and chubby. And give her some lipo on the hips. :P
Lol Internet

Thin and tall? Since when have these been the defining properties of females? Alright, being thin has become the ideal in at least many western civilisations, but overdoing the height isn\'t a good thing. After all, Ylians are supposed to be humans, and as such

Their robust and well-proportioned body gives them the opportunity to work in all arts. They can have hair from black to white, eyes with wonderful colors and skin from pale to dark brown. They are from 1.60 m to 1.85 m tall.

If the humans become too thin, the Nolthrirs who

appear as slim elves

would barely be visible due to skinny-ness. :D

Furthermore, the female model should be about the same size as the male model, as there AFAIK is no clear definition of which (if any) is taller than the other.

Even if you modelled her wearing clothes, it still looks like she\'s wearing shoulderpads underneath her shirt. ;) The breasts form from the chest, not the shoulders. If you fixed that, it would start to look a million times better imo.

P.S. You can\'t get anything ingame if you post it in the forums. Talad won\'t accept things that people have already publicly seen. Apply to the team and do some tasks for us instead, otherwise I\'m afraid it was a bit of a waste of time. :)

P.P.S. She would also need fingers... >.>

Hi!

Here\'s more direct link to the sketch -

Good job DivineLight, I like it! Not of the most athletic sort, but very beautiful still. Just like the sketch. Good modeling. I\'d be interested to know the polygon count. :)

I\'ll agree that she\'d look better if the chest was flattened a bit. I may have overdone it on the sketch.

I have little to add to what tips you\'ve already been given. Hmm, maybe you could make the tip of her feet less pointy (vertically). Wrists could be just a bit thinner too, in the side view. As a separate mesh, her hair could sway more realistically, without affecting the shape of her neck.

Right now it\'s a good looking statue :) it still needs more work to be a character, so don\'t give up.

To rosmerelmer: Hmm, Blender smoothing works good with me. Could be that the corresponding vertices are not joined, so the program thinks that the object ends there. Also check that you\'ve applied the smoothing to the whole object and not just some of the vertices. Can\'t say more without more information. Be sure to download the newest version.

Ps. Can\'t agree with Moogie about the waste of time thing; you\'ve done likeable fanart here, had fun, gained experience, inspired some people, got new friends...

Pss. Does your name lack an \'L\' there on the pic, or is it just a style thing?
