This game is mostly about roleplaying, there is pvp and pve, but keep in mind if you rp, you\'ll shine more. ;)

As for professions, there will be many skills  in the future: Miner, Alchemist, Crafter, etc....and yes, you can go kill monsters with swords and magic and what not. I say professions would be based mostly on the skills you develop and what you roleplay yourself as.

Hiya, and welcome to Planeshift and Yliakum! There are no classes or professions in the game. The distinctions between warrior, mage, thief, etc. during character creation is only used to help determine appropriate stats, if you don\'t want to take the long route.

There are duels in-game, using the /challenge command. The other player will have to accept your challenge for the duel to begin, but they can always decline. There is no open PVP.

The only available \"group attack\" is a guild war. Even then, however, guild leaders will have to accept (or decline) challenges. But once a guild war is activated, the members of the two guilds are free to attack anyone from the oposing guild, without any further prompts. So in that case and that case only the situation is similar to open PVP.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Greetings, welcome to Yliakum,

To answer your questions...

1.) As Aiselyn and Karyuu said, class is essentially determined by you. I for one am/will be a sort-of ranger, i.e. I will have sword skill, and a bow when they implement them. However, and this is the genius of planeshift, I am/will be a dabbler in the red and blue ways as well as the leader of a roleplaying cult guild. Essentially, you can be pretty much anything you want, just some things are not yet implemented.

2.) Yeah, Aiselyn and Karyuu answered that fairly well. I find the best thing to do is kill things (monsters and dueling) within the confines of roleplaying. Please do not just go behind someone and challenge them until they have implemented assassination. I find the best thing to do if you want to duel someone is to speak to them \"sir (or madam) you have sullied my good name, I challenge you to a duel. Choose your weapon...\" and so on. Also I find the best duel types are with magic or bare-fisted. But thats just me. Xirius frowns at Kran hitting at 60 damage with a longsword

3.) In game you can form groups of people and go monster-slaying. Lots of fun and I recommend it if you wish to kill an Ulbernaut. Guild war is also fun as are guild alliances. Hehehe, Xirius chuckles as he knows Am-Heh, the leader of the infamous Deus ex Trucido does not know what to make of Keldjan kol Granbanast. Is it good? Evil? Yeah, good times...

Sorry about that... hehehe,

Anyways, welcome to the game, hope you have fun.

May Keldjan light the darkness for you,

Xirius
