As a fellow biological scientist I just have to say that I second what Zan said!

You can all forget about immortality, and about stoping aging you can only delay death to a certain point! And death is only a fundamental part of life.

If you happen to die... just search for the spinning Carkarass :P

I don\'t think that lameshift is at the stage yet where we can relate it to life.

Anyway, I thought the nearest star to earth was 430 lightyears away, wait, no, I\'ve had that number wrong, oh crap. Its 4.3 lightyears away.

But my point still stands, I mean its not like we are likely to find life there, somewhere further, maybe.

Science is uber-cool, but we need a stable world government before we make really big advances.

And we need to convert all our fuel sources to nuclear and renewables cos we\'ve almost run out of coal, oil and gas.

And stop world hunger, major diseases and virii, etc.

In short, there are hundreds of problems before we begin to travel to other planets.

Common my firend. Those problems are un-solvable. Lets start on the easy stuff first.
I actually think world-hunger is unsolvable, because it could be done ages ago but no-one is willing to do it. Unless I am in power of the world, it will take too long to cure world-hunger.
In that time just quickly launch and create a base on mars and send me there to culturvate the whole place.
Yay.

We could also pump tons of water into space so we reduce the risk of flooding is the ice caps keep melting.

You\'re right, space rocks.

I think you are all crazy.

Immortality will never come in our lifetimes. and if it does, it will only lead to the destruction of mankind.

Science is good, But all of us petty humans cannot see the greater picture, and in some cases the cataclysmic events that may follow.

If you want immortality, it means that you are unstable in your faith (if you have any), and or that you have not accepted that death is a part of reality, and It will come weather you are ready or not.  searching for immortality means that you are afraid of what is to come (arent we all a little afraid?), but you need to accept it, and know that immortality is a dream, something conjured up by those who are afraid of death and would cling to what they know forever.

Farewell Moogie, Farewell Draklar, Farewell Drey. you will be missed.

Who says that you are capable of being on power, you make the impression of a naive child to me now.

Immortality, hmm we have some kind of immortality:
People actually die because some of their cells wont, it\'s called Tumor. So your appraised immortality lies before you and kills you.

Lol? I was joking before. I thought it was obvious.

My dream stands tall. And I do fear death, I fear it so much that I feel very confused when I think about it in context with any achievement in life that I would want to complete. I think of finishing school, and going to work, then I think of death, and I can\'t it dissorients me, I can\'t believe that we die. Too much in this brain for it to simply stop being. If there is no after-life, I don\'t want to die.

If you dont die you will never find out.

And such \"If I was on the power ...\" statements are really nonsense, regardless what you say after it.

Then find faith, it\'ll do more than just comfort you.  Religion doesn\'t seem realistic?  That\'s why it is called faith, there is no direct proof that we can 100% trust.

Well, I believe I\'m done here.  I\'m a Christian, so saying \"Find faith\" is normal for me, although many people will think I\'m trying to convert them.  So, I\'m outta here.

Bye. :)
