Disable censorment in URLs

While censorment in text has it\'s reason, it would be somehow good to disable it in URLs, some time back I posted a b@stard sword model thumbnail (imageshack), and well the link somehow was \\peanut.jpg

So if any possible could you dissable censorment within the [URL] tag

its easier to rename your image file to something suitable outside the censorship parameters

Unless of course, the censored words are in your hostname / site path (for geocities, ISP, etc hosting).

Then you\'re screwed. It\'s an open argument whether that serves you right or not, but you\'re screwed nonetheless .

It works as long as you don\'t put URL tags around it and make it a hyperlink.

Basically all I did was add [i][/i] in the middle of the triple w\'s and also in the middle of the word. An open tag followed by a close tag turns invisible- but it still splits the word up in a way that breaks censorship (and also stops a \"www.\" getting auto-URLed).

Anyone who uses this to swear will have their fingers smashed.

I think the problem in this specific instance is that \"bastard\" is a legitimate word in a fantasy setting due to the presence of the \"Bastard Sword\" and the fact that \"bastard\" can be used in a non-cursing context to simply mean a \"child that has no legitimate father.\" The change should probably be just removing that word from the filter and then dealing with abusers on a case by case basis. \"Bastard\" isn\'t used to swear that often and I\'d guess that the number of people abusing this would be very few. For those that really want to curse, there\'re always hundreds of symbols to use, anyway. Removing this one word from the filter probably would have little if any negative impact on the community.
