A tall tale

During the night of Wednesday to Thrusday, at 00:42:36, a UFO crashed in Nantes, France.

It was a rocket flown by a small giantess.

On Friday morning, an enormous elephant, 11.2m (36.7 feet) high, 42 tonnes, settled in one of the city\'s avenues.


It was the time-travelling elephant of the sultan of the Indies.


The small giantess and the elephant visited the city in the afternoon.




During the night it seems the child had a nightmare of cars sewed to the ground.


On Saturday morning the little giantess showered

before strolling in the city and there was a night parade that evening.


The city of Nantes and the sultan bid farewell to the little giantess this Sunday afternoon as she took off.

I think we all agree that \"strange\" is a missuse of term.
I would say that that would be, at the very least \"incredible\", if not \"awe-inspiring\". How is that girl+elephant moving?
Also, those guys that are exactly beneath the girl, is it dangerous down there. I predict showers ; ).

Royal de Luxe are a Nantes-based street theatre group who set up giant parades from time to time in France but usually do more traditional shows. I know they\'ve been in other european countries.

@ajdaha: The little giantess is basically a 5m puppet animated with ropes and pulleys, so there\'s lots of people around it to animate it, but with remote-controlled facial expressions. The elephant is more like a giant (retro-looking) animatronic (it\'s a time-travelling machine which left the Indies in 1905):

@Efflixi Aduro: Well the story\'s not really supposed to make sense. The show was organised in the context of the 100th anniversary of Jules Verne\'s disappearance (he\'s the author who wrote \"20,000 Leagues Under The Sea\", \"From the Earth to Moon\", \"Around the World in 80 Days\", ...). IMO it was a great way to (re)kindle the child asleep within each of us. You didn\'t know the schedule of the events: the day before you were given a rough plan of the next day\'s events either on TV or in an early-20th-century-looking newspaper especially edited for the occasion, so you had to go and find out for yourself. On Sunday, there were near to 100,000 people who congregated to wish farewell to the little giantess.
