Creating Character

Hey,
Can someone please help?
Im new to plane shift, but im having problems making a character. i go through all the normal steps, i launch plane shift it comes up and ask for my username and password, i type it in and it goes to the next screen. The \"new charcter\" button is in the top right button and when i click it nothing happens, all i see is the staircase spinning around with nothing there except air, above that it says Waiting on server data...
Any help would be muchly apreaciated,

I am new.  Actually, I am still downloading the client at the moment.  However, given what I\'ve read on the FAQs and in your post, my guess is that you are either having trouble connecting to the server, or you are just not waiting long enough.  How fast is your internet speed?  Do you have a firewall?  Have you tried restarting the client?  Hopefully this will help out untill someone who knows what they are talking about comes by.

This could do with connecting the server, perhaps as Krisk said you not waiting long enough for the Creation Screen to appear.
