Well, here's an idea. Dunno how well it would work, though.

Anyone who\'s played Vagrant Story will probably know this one.

Basically, if you spend all your time killing dragons (for arguments sake), you get really good at killing dragons. The problem is, because most of your experience is with dragons, you don\'t know how to handle wolves (again, for arguments sake). Which means that your character specialises in particular areas of combat, to the detriment of others. :)

For a start, it would mean that someone who\'s maxed out their levels would still need the skills other people have, and vice versa. :)

Thats a good idea, it keeps you from getting tired of a game as fast...although it would get kind of annoying if you go in some dungeon and you get pounded by something you have never seen before....what about instead if its each seperate creature race, it could be type of creature like forest creature, water creature, or magic creature, something like that...that way if you go into some dungeon type place where there are many different creatures you dont get cut up as easily

It looks nice, but it doesnt really fit. No matter how much i fight (ill use your example here) Dragons, i still get better at fighting in general, if im used to fighting dragons, which could bite my head off with ease, i would have no trouble at all chopping up and dastardly wolf that should spring at me, if there was a difference, it would be small enough to be negligable, and not putting in a system as potentialy complex as that would save the programmers resources and an extra task to do that really wouldn\'t do much, and it would save the Rules people the trouble of having to make a system of that to work.

Well, thats more or less the jist Vagrant Story had - dragons, undead, elementals, human, and creature.

Hey, shanky, suppose it was the other way around?
In any case, a dragon is a big, lumbering thing that\'s not exactly going to be fast or agile, whereas a wolf is faster and a lot more nimble - the challenge is totally different, as are the methods you\'d use to take them down. Yeah, you would get better at fighting overall, but the techniques and skills you\'d develop would be different, see?

Well, in any case, it\'s only a suggestion. VS actually did it with weapons, where if you kept using one sword against undead creatures, it *somehow* grew more efficient at dealing with them, but lost effectivness against humans. I\'m just applying the same principle to people instead of weapons.... it could be very interesting. :)

Yeah, i have heard of the game, but have never played, nor do i know what system it is for. But i do like the idea in general. But, yeah, maybe it should be limited to diff creature characteristics, like Undead, water, fire, earth, and wind elemental, and stuff like that, it would make for a different game, without making it too complex.

VS is for playstation. i heard its a good game. i may try it sometime. :D i like that idea to. it is like learning how to deal with different types of attacks. which seems realistic. and that makes it a good idea. :)

if it is going to be like this, maybe it shouldbe added to your name, like Azrum the Dragon Slayer or something like that...

It would look weird if everybody had that, so you could press a little button in the \'options\' menu you coud turn it off/on.

It\'s just some weird idea i made.

It\'s a great game. Gets even better on the end, and as you probably know, you can replay it to unlock places u couldn\'t find before, etc. The item customization is great, as it allow you to COMPLETELY change the status of the weapon, like adding bonuses against dragons, undeads, resistance, and other things.
