Well that is not quite fair to the people who aren\'t that active. Myself for example, I \'m usually not online much during the summer months but always return after the holidays are over. If this would happen I \'d come back to a \'dumb\' character again though.
Edit: Ok didn\'t read the following posts .. if it \'s a month actually spent online with your character then it would be reasonable.

fken, I \'m not going to argue about the infinity of the mind with you because this isn\'t the place and your response shows there isn\'t much to discuss. If you want to carry this on feel free to PM so I can show you where you are wrong.

Seams like a good idea, but then relearning that skill should be far easier than original (we all know that learning something second time is easier).

Maybe PS should offer a Freeze account option? This would freeze an account so that nothing happened to it for a specific time, but when the account is frozen, one cant play. This would help the holyday people?

thx for all the info, i knew if i posted something i\'d get alot of info in return :)

but i was serious about making levels \"worth\" more

that way instead of hardly seeing anything with each level up (the only technical term for it i guess) you cant actualy gain anything, BUT gaining skills wouldnt be too bad if you could actualy feel the effects (not exactly every 1, but maybe every few skills, maybe raises to where it takes alot to notice the effects)

and ya i wasnt too sure about the leveling up thing, i noticed it was kind of slow atm, but im sure it only gets faster cause of how it\'s setup, im sure once another big update comes (more mobs, ect.) more things might become available

but atm i\'d rather them work on getting alot of working skills, items, ect. working

and i noticed we need to be able to move slightly faster sometime in the future (if the game is going to be bigger)

but this is a good thread to give the mods some ideas on how to improve skills and such

Fken I am sorry to say this but you really don\'t know what you are talking about. One minute you claim one thing then you claim to have heard something else that contradicts what you said earlier.

Anyhow back on topic really  against anything like \"forgetting\" things over time. At the moment it would not work with all the bugs and it would really suck degrading becuase a bug makes it so you can\'t use the skill. but also later I see no real benefit to gameplay in it while it seems a really annoying thing to program.

I also think this would be a disadvantage to the people who play it now and then and not 24/7. This would mean they would degrade sooner as to how much time they spend playing and think thats not really fair.

I m still looking where I am contradict myself...
But I think there should be a misunderstood between what I meant and what Ive written cause in pm, Zan wanted to contradict myself by saying exactly what I meant...

I know what Im speaking about and please if you want to make fun of me be prepared to be responsible of the consequences. I said we would stop the off topics and I was hoping another people could create a thread in Hydlaa plaza for example. No! You just use his thread by thinking that I wont answer because of my previous post about the \"off topics\" character of the discussion. I really dont respect that way to behave. So if you wanna speak about brain and human capacities -> HYDLAA PLAZA !!!

But I warn you: you said you ve heard that human brain use only 30% of its capacities and this phrase show us you dont really know what you are talking about (for example Zan said in pm that human brain use 100% of its capacities and Im 100% ok with that theory).

So I hope I wont be too boring by writting that another time but...
-> HYDLAA PLAZA !!!

Maybe my two cents will get back on target. :)
I think:
As skills increase it should allow the character to tackle \"bigger\" NPC\'s (which it does) and the \"bigger\" NPC should drop bigger loot.  But by the same token, at higher levels, advancing skills should cost more.  This would keep the skill leveling equal, but it would not seem like it.
It should keep a noob from trying to attack a high level NPC (without the bugs,) but should allow for a character to attack an NPC just at the upper limits of skills and reap the rewards.
Just like in R/L. You make more, you spend more :)
After a time, you will find that having, is not so pleasing a thing after all, as wanting.  It is not logical, but often true.

I think that the main problem is that its impossible to get better at something without paying for it.  There should be some way to actually get better on your own, without the assistance of an NPC. I mean come on, sincewhen were PCs incapable of independant learning?

He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare, while he who has one enemy shall meet him everywhere.

To Fken: Just becuase you said you didn\'t want to continue I only made a two sentence reply and went back on topic. If you made a mistake while posting and didn\'t mean what you did I\'m not a mindreader.

back on-topic AGAIN

I think the major problems with leveling is

1. there are few ways to make money. It makes that people have stacks of PP with no way to train them. It also means making money is so important but at the same time mindnumbing that Roleplaying is dieing out and the roleplayers hardly level at times.

2. There are no roleplaying skills or skills to have fun with as I rather see them. Only a few skills work and they are mainly combat focussed. Even the spells are combatfoccused eventhough they can\'t compete with blades yet :P
