Can you provide the specs of your system? (Distro, glibc version etc.)

sure

Distribution: Gentoo-Linux
Kernel: 2.6.11-gentoo-r4
X Window System Version 6.8.2
gcc (GCC) 3.4.3 20041125 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.3-r1, ssp-3.4.3-0, pie-8.7.7)
glibc-2.3.5
nVidia GeForce FX 5500 driver: 1.0-7174

i had to delete the tga file like mentioned in the other thread to get so far:
the intro and the login part took very long to load and when the game is loaded it crashes with the above mentioned error

It is random and sometimes happens, usually at shutdown.

Xml error? why didn\'t you mention that earlier! :P with the latest updates, you have to open psclient.cfg and correct an xmlread to tinyxml.
