Pogo Wants You!*cough* Er ... well ...
It all started in a pub back in October 2004, the day was rather late and the bill was already high, when a friend of mine asked me if I had planned a summer vacation already. I said no. He said he once had the wish to visit New York for a week or so, and that he planned to do that this year. \"Count me in\" was my reply.
Little did I know what was about to start...
Story became legend, legend became myth, and for two-and-a-half
thousand years, the Ring... no wait, that\'s a different story. Anyway...
The idea got lost, noone talked about it until the end of January. Same pub, same time of day... and we decided to continue the thought until the bitter (?) end.
As with most thoughts, you don\'t stop at one point, you are always eager to \"take it to the next level\".
The logic next step was that flying over to the New World for just one week or so wasn\'t enough.
The next next step that two weeks just New York was not enough, so why not get a car and drive down from, say e.g. Washington DC to see something else, then spend a few days in NY.
The next next next step was that car rides are cool and just seeing a bit of everything was nice too. So we had a look at the catalogue of different travel agencies, and finally reached:
The ?ber-next(c) step: Three weeks, starting in Chicago, ending in LA. This is the general plan:

Now, since you\'ve all been reading so far and are probably thinking \"wtf?\"..
I know a lot of people who read these forums live somewhere \"over there\".

There\'s so little time, and the designated tourist attractions are not always s good idea for someone who has still decades before his retirement. XD
So I\'m formally, and desperately

asking for advice: Name places along that route 66/road that
you deem worthy of seeing. Any kind of inspiration is greatly appreciated.
