Black Screen
« on: May 31, 2005, 03:39:56 am »
I have done a search and found nothing on my problem.
I started the game and created a character no problem. I logged in  move a few steps and the game freezes. My monitor goes to a black screen and only way to get it off is to press the reset button. I have a amd athlon 2500 1 gig of ram and running windows xp. If ya need anything else let me know.

If it causes your system to lockup, it may very well be an overheating issue, or possibly some problem with your RAM.

You can remove the case off your box and see if anything changes. Also, find a memtest program on the \'net just to be sure. :)

i had this problem with any game i play 4 a long time, and it is doing it because of overheating no this is a problem. my system is amd athlon 2600+ 1 gig of ram and ati sapphire radeon 9200. the solution is to either buy a cooler which range from ?6 for a 6cm or can go to ?30 for a top notch 1. at the moment i suggest u should get a table fan take the side of ur case off and blow the fan into it. (thts wot i am doing at the moment) and my computer is at 50 degrees and b4 wen i was playin the game it was topping 80 degrees, but if a computer gets over 75 degrees it shutsdown automatically b4 it causes any damage to the cpu :P. o yes 1 more thing do a search on google for \'\'Mother board monitor 5\'\' (without the   \'\' \'\') and dwnload tht and in the taskerbar it shows the degrees of your computer. make sure it doesnt go over 70 degrees if it does put ur fan on full blast!!!!. gd luck. get bk to me if u want at andykennedy_9@hotmail.com

You guys are running way hot - I hate hot hardware, and you can cook a pikelet at 47 degrees (I tried it on an old 166Mhz)

Personally I\'m steady at 29 degrees

I just use a 120mm case fan from an old server.
