first of all if this is in the wrong forum plz move, i didn\'t really know where this should go
from the downloads section of main site:

Download methods

With the increasing demand of PlaneShift downloads and with the client getting bigger due to content addition, there is the need to find a brighter way to deliver to you our files. We are testing a new technology that can solve the problem. The technology is called BitTorrent. Using this FREE software, that contains no spyware and is open source, you will downloads PlaneShift files from other users, and not directly from our main site. It\'s important to notice that only the exact original file published by us is delivered to your machine, thanks to validity checks done by a central BitTorrent program hosted on our servers.

In addition to BitTorrent we also provide a direct download link.

isn\'t this bittorrent thing alot like kazaa or limewire? or do i just misunderstand the concept?
cuz if it is, than existing users could do the same thing and put their ps files in their shared folder so people can download it straight from kazaa or limewire.  i think this would be a good way to attract new players to the game, cuz if som1 sees it for dl on one of these sights and it has a short description (like the one used for search engines) and they are into this type of game, they might dl it.  also since it says they need other ways to deliver files, this could also work.  it wouldn\'t have to be official or anything, just any1 that has the ps client and a file sharing program could do it. problems would be if som1 modifies there client, then the new person wouldn\'t have the original version.  but its ok for people with no programing skills and no knowledge of source code and all that great stuff (like me) who would probably never figure out how to modify his/her client

p.s. i dont have the client cuz my comp sucks

p.p.s. how do you people feel about file sharing? im asuming most of you dont care b/c most of you probably agree with the whole open source thing and to me those are similar :baby:

There\'s a reason they picked Bit Torrent... well, several, but like Efflixi said, it\'s been discussed.
