That\'s right. SPAM. I noticed a large amount of unwanted posts on the forum lately. The tremendous amount of unnecesary  double topics flood the useful threads. I can understand you\'re curious about the game and want to know things, but take a look at earlier posts first if your question is already asked/answered.

I won\'t mention names, but remember that your status doesn\'t rise with your amount of posts. In fact, posting tons of spam \'makes you the child of the board.

well, yes it does, nobody seems to want to have the lable \"newbie\" (I dont like lables at all). I find it rather dull and dont like posting anymore because of it... seems like a lame compitition that I am not involved with. First mistake, putting lables on people and actually having it be because they post a ton. I have been around, lurking in the shadows for longer then some of the repeat posters and I still have noob on my name... ah well, we will see if anyone feels the same.

Same here. I was at the old boards for quite a while. I changed my name because I did not really like my old name.

My first post was at the beginning of September on the old boards - long before many of you came to PS. But I didn\'t post much at all and things just went bad with all that Billy Bob stuff - I just stuck to the smaller boards over at Zeal and Kendricks. But since the creation of this new board I have found the posts and discussions to be both helpful and interesting and the board populated by people I like and respect. I have never really been this active on a forum before - I guess it\'s because at the moment I do feel happy and comfortable here and have a real interest in the project.

As for the board ranking - I don\'t care if we have it or not. Thekkur has made it clear that posting just for ranking will be frowned upon and people will listen, things should be alright .

You seem to be making several dozen posts or replies each day, and very few arent spam Valathous. Thekkur makes about as many, but they are usually flames in reply to the spam...

  I, for one, don\'t really care what my rank is. You guys can keep them there if you want, since most boards seem to have them, but I don\'t think they\'re anything more than a status symbol - a rough guideline of how long the person has been there. I\'m glad to see these boards are a lot better, population wise, than the old ones, and I sincerely hope that it stays that way.

I like the ranks, it shows who the talkers are and who they aren\'t, which is helpful to some people........although some people seem to think the term \"newbie\" is degrading, which it really isnt, you kinda figure their personality out by the ranks

I agree. On the old boards I made my first post in September, and that was quite a while after I first found the Planeshift site. After that I just lurked around and not doing anything much. As a result, nobody knew me, but at least I\'m not labelled a spammer.....
