Pick up command
« on: June 03, 2005, 11:35:32 pm »
There really should be a text-based command to pick up a targeted item.  (If there already is, it\'s not in the help, and I can\'t figure out what it is.)  It would be nice to be able to map it to a shortcut button.

Double-clicking on an object doesn\'t work well enough? o.o
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Sometimes the system thinks you want to attack the object.
Well you can slay a gold ore if you want...
I thought he was referring to items almost hidden by the floor or other objects and thus unable to click two times on it.

Ah! Come to think of it, that is brilliant. I lost a circle due to my dropping it -into- a table. I could target it with \"Next NPC\" but couldn\'t click... Agreed, then, it is a useful text command to have.

/target_context just brings up the context menu, it doesn\'t pick up the item automatically.

It just seems odd that there isn\'t a command for something as simple as \"pick up\".

To get stuck items, here\'s what to do:
Go into the options menu and turn off the camera\'s collision detection (temporarily).
Then move the camera to be inside the ground/wall too.
Double-click as normal to pick it up.
